Big best describes the night when direct-selling company Boardwalk celebrated its 20th anniversary on June 18.
Celebrity endorsers along with over 150 models and stars walked the ramp at the Araneta Coliseum showcasing the brand’s latest designs.
Svelte actresses Jean Garcia and Assunta de Rossi, Eat Bulaga! host Ryan Agoncillo, young sexy stars Rich Asuncion and Bangs Garcia, and Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (MPP) Artista Ng Dekada awardee Cherry Pie Picache were all there to support the brand.
Kris Aquino, the brand’s business ambassador also graced the event. However, she stayed for a few minutes just to formally open the show. The rest of the program was hosted by Kristine Caballero, Patrick Moore and male supermodel Borgy Manotoc.
The audience was treated to special performances. International R&B sensation Billy Crawford sang his hit single "Bright Lights." Party Pilipinas mainstay Rachelle Ann Go performed a back-to-back number featuring Katy Perry’s chart-topping song "Firework" and Jessie J’s "Price Tag."
NEW FACES. Some of showbiz’s newest stars were launched alongside new product lines of Boardwalk. The crowd went wild when controversial Kapamilya stars Jake Cuenca, Julia Montes and Coco Martin appeared in an ancient Greek and Roman-themed segment.
Two new members of the brand’s growing group of celebrity endorsers are Mateo Guidicelli and Nikki Gil who performed a rendition of Lady Gaga’s "Born This Way."
Hot hunks Guji Lorenzana, David Chua, Victor Aliwalas, former beauty queen Justine Gabionza, and Rich Herrera and Rich Hardin of ABS-CBN’s The Price Is Right also walked the ramp.
THE COMEBACK KIDS. While the introduction of new celebrity endorsers were key points of the show, the show also featured veteran models, beauty queens and actresses.
Supermodels Patty Betita and Isabel Roces, and former Binibining Pilipinas Universe titleholders Desiree Verdadero (1984), Joyce Ann Burton (1985) and Gem Padilla (1990) were looking good as they walked the runway.
Another beauty title holder, 1993 Binibining Pilipinas International-turned-actress Alma Concepcion also joined in.
Veteran actresses Lyka Ugarte, Deborah Sun and Azenith Briones were delightful scene stealers.
GRAND FINALE. The show lasted for about three hours, but the crowd’s energy level remained high till the end. The final showcase was a line of designer jeans by Avel Bacudio.
Highlight of the show was celebrity endorser Derek Ramsay who swooped down the runway like a black-winged angel wearing nothing but jeans.
Overall, the show was a satisfying feast for the eyes with all the lovely clothes and beautiful men and women who graced the stage.
A TV special for One Big Show will be aired soon on ABS-CBN.
