Derek Ramsay shoots bed scene with Cristine Reyes for upcoming movie

Derek Ramsay is set to star in a movie with Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes — two of the hottest actresses today. Controversies have hounded his relationship with girlfriend Angelica Panganiban in the past, but this time, Derek says she has no problem with him working with two sexy female co-stars.

Star Cinema and Viva Films are collaborating on another movie this year, starring bankable Kapamilya talents Anne Curtis, Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes.

The last time the two movie outfits joined forces was for Sarah Geronimo and Gerald Anderson’s Catch Me I’m In Love, which was shown in March this year.

Last night, June 18, (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Derek Ramsay in his dressing room after the Boardwalk One Big Show. He revealed that he was both nervous and excited about the project.

"Tomorrow (June 19) is my big day. First day of my movie with Anne and Cristine, and bed scene kaagad."

It has been a while since we last saw Derek on the big screen. His last was in 2009 for Star Cinema’s I Love You, Goodbye. The movie also starred Gabby Concepcion, Kim Chiu and his longtime girlfriend Angelica Panganiban.

"I’m really looking forward to going back to acting. It’s going to be my first for this year," he said.

And what a way to start the ball rolling!

Derek revealed that the first scene he’s shooting is a bed scene with Cristine Reyes. How is he preparing for this?

"I’m watching this film they gave me, Love And Other Drugs, to get a feel for my character. But I’m not really thinking too much about the bed scene."

Said movie was shown in 2010 which featured young Hollywood stars Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Derek added: "I’m going to study the film, study the male character (Jake Gyllenhaal), to help me with my character in my movie."

In the film, Jake plays a young salesman at the top of his game. He falls in love with Anne Hathaway’s character who, as he later finds out, has a serious medical condition.

The film was much-talked about last year because of the countless bed scenes of Jake and Anne, and the exposure of certain body parts. Derek made no comment when asked if he, too, would be exposing some delicate body parts in his new movie.

His only reply was, "I’m very excited and very nervous. I haven’t had this feeling since Magkaribal and I Love You, Goodbye."

Magkaribal was Derek’s last TV series for ABS-CBN in 2010 where he starred opposite Bea Alonzo and Gretchen Barretto.

"It’s nice that I’m doing a movie again," he said. "It’s been a while since I shot a movie. I’m working with two great actresses — both very attractive and very sexy so I need to bring my ’A’ game."

Speaking of sexy co-stars, Derek was recently caught in the middle of a controversy involving his former Magkaribal co-star Erich Gonzales.

He reportedly brought Erich to Tagaytay to meet his mother. He explained what really happened in an interview on The Buzz (CLICK HERE to read story). However, the incident seemed to have irked his girlfriend Angelica Panganiban for a while.

Now that Derek is going to do a film with arguably two of the country’s hottest actresses today, how is Angelica dealing with the setup? Does she have any negative comments/reactions about it?

"No, not at all," he said.

"She’s very supportive. She’s also doing a movie with Piolo [Pascual] so she’s very busy. Our schedules don’t [jive] so she surprised me in Shanghai when I competed [there] last weekend. She flew in for a day and surprised me on the last day."

Derek added, "there’s also no problem with other parties like with Rayver and Anne’s boyfriend. Trabaho lang ’to e."

Rayver, of course, is Rayver Cruz who is the boyfriend of Cristine Reyes. Anne Curtis is dating Erwan Heussaff, brother of budding GMA-7 artist Solenn Heussaff.

Derek also shared how the three of them—he, Anne and Cristine—are preparing for the movie. Have they bonded with each other?

"I already did workshops with Cristine. Si Anne, I’ve known her even before showbiz. So lahat kami magkakilala na, so [I think] wala namang magiging problema. Trabaho lang."
