Maria Aragon hopes to make a difference for the poor children in the Philippines

"When I came to the Philippines, [I saw that] there are kids on the streets who have no homes...no bed to [to sleep on]. This made me cry," says Maria Aragon on why she wants to help the poor children in her native country.

Isang ordinaryong 11-year old Filipina na nakatira sa Canada si Maria Aragon—until that fateful day of February 16, 2011.

Ngayon, Maria is the newest Star Record International recording artist sa Pilipinas. First time ni Maria sa bansa.

"I feel really blessed, and I wanna say thank you to everybody for your support," panimula ni Maria sa tanong ni KC kung ano ang pakiramdam nito ngayong sikat na siya.

Ayon kay KC, ang maganda raw kay Maria, palagi nitong ipinagmamalaki that she’s Filipino saanman siya mag-perform. Maria’s dad is from Laguna at ayon sa dalagita ay hindi pa raw siya nakakapunta rito.

"I would love to go there and see the place. I would also love to go to my mom’s hometown because I’ve never seen my family there before.

"I mean, my lolo on my mom’s side. So, I’m really excited to be there," pagtukoy ni Maria sa bayan ng kanyang ina, Ormoc, Leyte.

Before The Buzz, Maria performed with Sarah Geronimo in ASAP.

"It was an amazing experience, especially getting to sing with the one and only Sarah Geronimo," pagkukuwento pa niya.

"And she was really nice and amazingly talented. And it was such a blessing an honor that everybody welcomed me in ASAP."

And since Maria is with Star Records now, ano ang mga dapat abangan sa kanya?

"Now, we are recording for an album and that’s gonna be coming out sometime in August. We have songs like "Born This Way" and just a little bit of revival [songs]."

Humingi ba sila permission from Lady Gaga para maisama ang song nito?

Nangiti si Maria sabay sabi ng, "I’m pretty sure we did."

"And we’ll also gonna have, "You’re My Home" by Ms. Lea Salonga. We’ll gonna be doing another version of that under Star Records and we’re really excited about that," patuloy pa nito.

KC asked Maria, what was the best advice she got from her parents or from the people she’d worked with, like Lady Gaga and Ellen?

"Her advice is from the heart, you should always stay grounded," pagtukoy niya kay Lady Gaga.

"I mean, I’ve been through a lot but the thing is, you should always stay grounded and always stay with God.

"I always pray with my family, every night. To be just always grateful for what you have, because there are kids or a lot of people that don’t have what we have.

"We’re very privileged with what we have and it’s very important to me.

"And I just wanna talk about another one that I’m doing, it’s called, Couples for Christ Global. The money we can raise goes to the education of the poor children in the Philippines."

"The other day, I cried," patuloy ng dalagita. "Because it’s really important to me that we should be aware of all the different situations and tragedies that are happening around us.

"When I came to the Philippines, [I saw that] there are kids on the streets who have no homes...no bed to [to sleep on]. This made me cry."

Hindi raw ba aware si Maria na nangyayari talaga ang mga bagay na gaya ng mga nasaksihan niya sa iba’t ibang bansa?

"It doesn’t normally happen in Canada. Obviously, I wanna make a change and hopefully, I can influence other people to make a change too."

Sa huli, Maria sang an OPM song na "Hawak Kamay" at ang version niya ng "Born This Way" na naging daan para makilala siya halos sa buong mundo ngayon.
