In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Jake Cuenca’s co-stars in Regal Entertainment’s My Neighbor’s Wife revealed that the actor has a butt exposure in the movie.
But when PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) got a chance to talk to Jake on the set of their film at the Kamana Sanctuary Resort in Subic, Zambales, last Sunday, August 7, he said, "Hindi naman. Well, that’s something na you’ll watch out for it.
"Pero siyempre, it’s something na ano... I’ll do it if it states to be done.
"I wouldn’t do it just to like bare myself. The scene calls for it, needs it, then I guess I’ll have to do it," he said.
Jake added, "Panoorin n’yo, I don’t wanna... I’m not going to detail the whole body exposure.
"But then watch it and just see kung ano matutuklasan n’yo sa pelikula."
My Neighbor’s Wife also stars Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, and Carla Abellana.
DARING AND SENSUAL. Jake said that his role in the movie directed by Jun Lana is "daring."
"Definitely the character is daring!" he exclaimed.
"’Yong ano naman, e, essence ng pelikula, very sensual.
"Pero feeling ko, more than the daring, more than the sexiness, more than the ano, it’s really the material also that’s gonna stand out.
"Malaking factor I mean, and we have yet to do a lot of intimate scenes. We have to do... I mean I never shot that intimate.
"The funny thing is how comfortable we are na, you know, sa shooting, sobrang comfortable namin, sobrang kumportable namin sa isa’t isa.
"We were comfortable with the scene. Hindi na siya nakakahiya.
"Alam mo ’yon, hindi na siya... Everyone here in the set, everyone in the set just wants to go to work, everyone just wants it to be a great movie.
"And ’yong shyness, ’yong ilangan, we resolved that right away."
AS BULLET IN MY NEIGHBOR’S WIFE. Jake also described his character in the film.
"My role… it’s a lot different from In the Name of Love," said the actor, referring to his last movie with Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin.
"A, this character is really ano... very, very normal, e.
"Actually, you know, instead of explaining the character, I can just say na the movie shows the nitty-gritty of being married.
"Lalo na when you’re young, lalo na when there’s a complication, when there’s a kid.
"’Yong consequences ng isang pagkakamali at kung anong puwedeng mangyari, kung paano puwedeng masira ang buhay mo sa isang pagkakamali."
Jake added, "Pero itong mga problema natin na ita-tackle namin sa pelikulang ito, this is very normal.
"I mean, this is something that people don’t talk about.
"This is something na a wife would never say about her husband but these are common problems.
"I’ve seen this happen so many times. So parang this is the type of role that I wanted to do because it’s kinda like an advocacy also.
"It’s an eye opener na parang, you know, when you get married, dapat talaga panatag ka, dapat talaga sigurado ka sa ginagawa mo.
"You cannot enter a marriage and say na I can get away with it.
"Hindi rin siya ’yong typical na movie na may kontrabida. These are real, these are real people.
"I love portraying gray characters coz they’re very real, they’re very... they’re complex and so it’s an opportunity.
"It’s also a good chance to be working with the Channel 7 actors like Lovi, Dennis, and Carla.
"And it’s not every day that you’ll be presented with this kind of opportunity.
"Again I accepted it to further better myself knowing that Jun Lana’s directing it, more likely, you know, one of the biggest [directors] in GMA-7.
"It’s an opportunity na kumbaga... For me, people should watch this coz this type of cast, this type of opportunity might not happen again, e, parang gano’n.
"It’s a type of thing you can most probably only watch it once, then hindi na namin alam kung kailan kami magsasama-sama ulit or something.
"So, that’s why it intrigued me a lot, it really intrigued me."
UPCOMING TELESERYE & MMK EPISODE. Jake just finished a soap, ABS-CBN’s Green Rose with Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)
His next TV project will pair him with Shaina Magdayao.
"The next one that I’m doing, I can’t go on to detail yet—hindi na siya ano, e, it’s not a kontrabida role.
"It’s a challenge naman for me this time around, in TV ha, challenge naman for me to soften myself.
"Kasi it’s been... I’ve been portraying so many hard roles, so hard.
"’Yong parang roles na mahirap i-penetrate na ano, that’s why it’s challenging.
"The next soap that I’m gonna be doing is very different from what you’ve seen for the past few [years].
"Then my MMK [Maalaala Mo Kaya] it’s the first also—definitely a first portrayal. I’ve never portrayed a role like that."
Jake also added, "We’re gonna start taping my new soap and I’m excited because I’m doing a teleserye with Shaina.
"It’s very different... But I’ve done this naman din, but this one’s a very different role din.
"Again, nagpapasalamat ako sa ABS-CBN... These past three years, they’ve been giving me the one, the right projects talaga.
"Now, parang they have different plans again and we’re gonna try this one out.
"I like the story, e. They presented this to me a long time ago and we got to finally do it.
"Nagsimula na kami. Nag-pictorial na kami, nakapag-storycon naman na."
DREAM ROLE. Jake enthused that he doesn’t have any particular dream role. He said that being an actor who can portray different kind of roles is a dream already.
"Ako, just to be offered always, that’s already a dream come true for me.
"I don’t really have like dream role kasi I’m an actor, e, that’s my job to really portray and give life to these characters.
"For me, every opportunity that I have to do, that is already a dream come true to me.
"Kumbaga, pangarap na ’yon na natutupad kada offer, kada soap, kada pelikula, kada MMK, na bigyan ako ng magandang role.
"Kasi ang tagal ko ring hinintay ’yan dati, e, para mabigyan ng kahit maliit, malaki, pero magandang role."
