JAMES YAP AS SPECIAL GUEST. The Regal matriarch said she considers the presence of James Yap as one of the things which made her 73rd birthday complete.
She told reporters that she asked for only one gift from her son Dondon Monteverde: "I told Dondon, for my birthday gift, dalhin mo si James sa birthday party ko."
Dondon serves as the manager of the basketball player.
Mother Lily said she specifically requested for James because "I really love him very, very much."
How does James feel about Mother Lily’s request?
"Siyempre, masaya. Gusto kong sabihin kay Mother, salamat sa pagmamahal," James said.
Is Mother Lily willing to produce a movie starring James?
"Why not? Pwede naman, di ba?" Mother Lily said.
The veteran film producer mentioned Last Two Minutes, referring to the movie starring Alvin Patrimonio that was produced by Regal in 1990.
QUESTIONS FROM BIMBY. Last June, Kris Aquino told ABS-CBN News that she "refused to talk to James" because of what she experienced at the witness stand during one of the court hearings related to her petition to nullify their five-year marriage.
But James pointed out: "Bakit siya magtatampo? Hindi nga kami nag-uusap. Walang tampuhan. Magkaibigan kami pero busy siya, busy ako."
Since he and Kris have been living apart, James said his four-year-old son, Bimby, has been asking him tough questions, such as: "Do you still love my mama?"
He answered this with: "Of course, I love your mama."
The basketball player added: "Si James [Bimby’s given name] kasi lumalaki na so kumbaga nakakaintindi na siya. So medyo ingat lang... minsan nagtatanong siya, ang hirap sagutin pero kailangan talaga."
James also said that he visits Bimby when his schedule allows it.
When asked if he is going out with Marie Digby, he answered, "Kaibigan ko si Marie."
Is James interested in courting Marie?
He paused for a while before answering, "Uhm...we’ll see."
And then added, "Kaibigan ko lang siya. Mabait yun."
Is James dating anyone right now?
"Hindi pa ako ready."
Does he still believe in marriage?
