It is expected that the award-winning child actor Jiro Manio will be released from the drug rehabilitation facility in Antipolo City in six months’ time.


It is expected that award-winning former child actor Jiro Manio will be released from a drug rehabilitation facility in Antipolo City in six months’ time.

According to ABS-CBN News, Jiro is now halfway through his drug rehabilitation program.

It can be recalled that Jiro voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility March this year to address his drug problem, which made him take a temporary hiatus from his showbiz career. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)

Last June 2009, Jiro was axed from the roster of Star Magic talents and removed from ABS-CBN’s now defunct teleserye Tayong Dalawa. (CLICK HERE for related article.)

Jiro is recognized as one of the country’s finest young actors of his time. He has received a few citations for his exemplary acting.

Jiro became one of the youngest to be named Best Actor at the Gawad Urian for his movie Magnifico in 2004.

He also bagged the Best Child Actor plum for the Maryo J. de los Reyes-directed movie in the 53rd FAMAS Awards.

Jiro’s last TV project was GMA-7’s Pilyang Kerubin.
