Champion car racer Marlon Stockinger not closing his doors to showbiz, but only after he races in Formula One

Marlon Stockinger on joining showbiz: "For now, I just want to do well at my sport. I don’t have anything against yung mga artista or people from showbiz... But for now, this is the only chance that I get talaga in car racing. I can’t do this anymore when I’m maybe 26 or older. This is the only chance that a Pinoy can reach the top. So, why not go for that? I know there will be doors open after."

Ayon kay Marlon, "For now, I just want to do well at my sport.

"I don’t have anything against yung mga artista or people from showbiz.

"I really respect what they do. You know, it’s mahirap.

"You have to be loyal to your fans and you have so much work to do.

"And I guess it’s something that if more doors open like after my racing career, showbiz would be something interesting to try.

"I’m always open to anything.

"But for now, this is the only chance that I get talaga in car racing.

"I can’t do this anymore when I’m maybe 26 or older.

"This is the only chance that a Pinoy can reach the top.

"So, why not go for that? I know there will be doors open after."

"There’s been offers like movie offers and then for TV there’s hosting, all these things.

"Some of them were very interesting, some of them I would love to do.

"But it’s hard because of the scheduling. And right now my focus is to my sport."

ALBERT MARTINEZ LOOK-ALIKE.

"I’ve heard it once," nakangiti niyang sabi.

"But in the beginning, I didn’t know like who he was.

"But I see him on TV because my yaya is always watching, you know, all that TV shows.

"They say nga na he’s guwapo, magaling na actor, and he’s been around naman for a long time already, di ba?"

"I guess since he’s good-looking, I’d say it’s a compliment.

"I can’t say anything bad about it. He’s a good actor also.

"So, I’m thankful to be compared to someone prominent especially in show business."

WORKING WITH LOVI & MARIAN.

Sabi ni Marlon, "Whenever it fits my schedule, I’ll do it.

"Kasi it gives me the money and it provides awareness for the car racing also.

"So, whatever’s good for the sport, I’ll do it."

Ani Marlon, "Obviously, there are so many beautiful Pinays there.

"You see them in billboards. I’ve worked with some of them.

"I had a pictorial with Lovi Poe. She’s very stunning.

"I had a shoot also with Marian for a newspaper and magazine.

"So, I can’t say anything wrong.

"They are so beautiful, so pretty and so nice.

"And it’s such a joy to get an opportunity to work with someone in a different aspect."

Kung magkakaroon daw ng isa pang pagkakataon, gusto niyang makatrabaho ulit sina Lovi at Marian.

"If I’ll get a chance to do another shoot with them, I would be up for it because it was so nice the first time around.

"So, yeah, sure."

Nasubukan na ba niyang manligaw ng artista?

"No, I haven’t had the chance to meet one.

"So, maybe if I meet one, I’ll have a better chance," nakangiting sabi ni Marlon.

FRIENDS WITH MATTEO.

"Yes, we’re friends. We do race but Matteo is always a year older.

"So, parang every time I move up [level or class], he would move up also.

"So, I only race with him maybe in my last two years. And it was fun."

"Yeah, I’m seeing him. He can talk Tagalog very well.

"I’m really happy for Matteo.

ON BEING A CHAMPION RACER.

Banggit pa niya, "In GP3, I was in the top 5. I’m the only Pinoy and the only Asian to be in the top 5 out of 30 drivers."

"GP3 is a series that supports the Formula One races.

"It’s basically two levels below Formula One.

"Above me is GP2 and F1 itself.

"Formula One is the ultimate race that every racer dreams of entering. So, I’m really working hard."

Kailan kaya siya tuluyang makasasali sa F1?

"Ang plano ko, if it goes really perfect, it’s probably like the next two or three years.

"But if everything goes really perfect next year, and if I win the championship next year, there’s no reason why I can’t try an F1 car."

PROUD TO BE PINOY.

"It always feels great to be back home and be with the people close to my heart.

"The Philippines will always be my home no matter what.

"Aside from that, I’m here to raise the level of awareness in racing."

Sa Pilipinas ipinanganak at lumaki si Marlon.

Sixteen years old daw siya nang tumira sila sa England.

Last year naman sila lumipat sa Switzerland.

Lahat kasi ng mga pinsan ko, they always speak Tagalog to me.

"Tapos kung hindi ako nag-Tagalog, parang naa-outcast ako kasi like I can’t be part of the group.

"So, I have to teach them English and they taught me Tagalog also.

"I guess that’s why I know a lot of Tagalog or at least I understand it fluently."

"My victory shows that we can beat any of the competition out there.

"I was the first Pinoy to ever win a race in Europe and in the UK.

"I was the first Pinoy to reach this level," saad niya.

"It’s always important.

"I always wear the [Philippine] flag on my helmet, on my suit, and on the car.

"I try to represent them as much as I can and show that we are a force to reckon with when it comes to sports."
