Glaiza de Castro is nostalgic about the just-ended Amaya; gears up for Biritera

Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro describes the status of her love life as "steady." She said, "Masaya naman ako sa takbo ng lahat, e. Sa buhay ko, sa career... Ayoko naman siyempreng madaliin lahat. Ayoko naman na, in a way, maapektuhan yung trabaho ko ng lovelife. Kung darating, darating... Basta masaya lang. Yun lang masasabi ko."

Glaiza de Castro is emotional over the end of GMA-7’s primetime teleserye, Amaya.

The actress has been part of the historical-drama series which started airing on May 20, 2011, and which will see reach its conclusion tonight, January 13.

Amaya casts Glaiza de Castro with Kapuso talents Marian Rivera, Sid Lucero, Mikael Daez, Aljur Abrenica, Gina Alajar, Lani Mercado, and Raymond Bagasting.

Glaiza plays the role of Binayaan, the second daughter of Datu Bugna (Raymond Bagatsing) and Dian Lamitan (Gina Alajar).

The name "Binayaan" comes from the word "biya" which means "forsaken" or "abandoned."

Binayaan recently met her demise, even before the plot’s actual denouement.

The 23-year-old morena remarks, "Ako, tapos na ako! Namatay na si Binayaan.

"Pero sobrang saya ko kasi ang dami kong natutunan dun sa show na yun. Di lang sa working ethics... kundi sa lahat-lahat."

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke to Glaiza at the birthday party of GMA-7 executive Redgie Magno last night, January 12.

(The celebration was held at Emar Suites on Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.)

Glaiza admits her difficulty in detaching from the production, especially the people she had worked with.

"Mixed emotion kasi ano, e... Kasi in a way, napalapit na yun sa puso mo, e— yung character ko, yung mga tao na kasama mo dun.

"So, ang hirap i-detach yung sarili mo. Ang hirap magpaalam.

"Ang sinasabi nga sa akin nung last taping nila, ’buti na lang wala ako kasi nag-iyakan daw sila.

"So, parang ako, ayoko magpaalam. Ayoko talaga ng mga goodbye.

"Buti na lang din kasi magkikita-kita pa naman kami.

"Pero the fact na natapos na yung pinaghirapan ng lahat, yung pinagpaguran, yung pinagpuyatan.

"In a way relieved, pero mami-miss namin yung isa’t isa."

NEW SOAP. While the actress kisses Amaya goodbye, she is delighted to be cast in yet another of GMA-7’s soaps for 2012.

Biritera is now in the works.

Glaiza has the lead role and prepares for the soap that will require her musical skills.

It pairs her with Dennis Trillo for the first time.

From the tragic Binayaan, the actress-singer will portray a musician who plays for a band.

"Bagong concept yung gagawin namin, and isa rin ito sa malapit sa puso ko—music, e," says the talented Glaiza, who will soon learn to play the drums.

She adds, "Bago naman kami siyempre sumalang, kailangan prepared kami.

"So, binibigyan kami ng time to prepare."

Will her singing take center stage in Biritera?

Also to be seen in the teleserye is actress-singer Angelika dela Cruz.

OPTIMISTIC. Asked how she sees 2012 will be for her, Glaiza replies, "I have yet to see, I have yet to know.

"Kasi ngayon, sobrang nag-i-start pa lang talaga. Pero nag-start siya nang masaya.

"And blessed ako kasi ang daming pumasok na blessing, tapos lahat naman ng mga hiniling ko last year, nagkatotoo.

"So ngayon, another batch of prayers!"

If anything, the doe-eyed beauty is prepared to accept change in her life.

What changes does she foresee?

"Lahat, sa lahat ng aspeto—physically, spiritually, lahat!

"Kasi ano, e, yun [change] lang naman yung constant thing, di ba?

"And excited ako kung ano man mangyayari this year—kasi alam ko na mas marami pa akong malalaman, mas marami pa akong matututunan, mas marami pa akong makikita at makikilala."

Glaiza is committed to improve herself even more.

"Personally siguro sa craft ko, mas marami pa akong magawa?

"Siguro yung mga hindi ko pa nagagawang roles, magawa ko.

"Siguro in terms of acting, yung mga mas extreme na roles.
