Sorry."
Paliwanag niya sa kanyang naging tugon, "No offense to her. But you said, what singer?
"Anne admits... she is not a singer. I have to give her that. I congratulate her for the concert..."
Aniya, "Ahhh... I have to think very carefully before I answer ’coz I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings. I need to sort of protect the occupation.
"I am a singer. And I consider myself a singer.
"I consider Regine Velasquez, Rachelle Anne Go, Sarah Geronimo, Zsa Zsa Padilla—those are singers.
"And you know, on the one hand, for purposes of self-promotion, puts out an album that is well-produced naman and it’s okay, it’s fine, I guess.
"But I get offended when somebody who clearly cannot sing represents himself or herself as a singer.
"It’s like, you’re just insulting me and every other singer that makes a living out of singing and working hard and honing their craft.
"The thing about Anne, I’m glad for her, ’I’m not a singer. I’m an entertainer.’
"So, I can’t get angry at her. And she doesn’t represent herself as a singer.
"She had a dream to one day do a concert at Araneta Coliseum. She made it come true...
"What I get angry at is when somebody who clearly has no voice to speak of... Every single song that they get their hands or fancy themselves as a singer and thinks they can make a career out of it.
"And I feel insulted, severely."
Sagot naman ni Lea, "You know I really can’t... I guess she just wants it for one night to be able to do that.
"And it’s really cool that a lot of people wanted to support her and...
"But yeah, I’m not sure that she should make a career out of singing but I thinknaman she...
"In reality, she knows what she is. She knows who she is. And I think she just basically let out a wish and somebody made it come true.
"I thought it was really cute. I didn’t get to see the concert. But everybody that I know that went there had a lot of fun."
LEA’S TWEETS.
"A full transcript of an interview answer I gave today has just been posted. I didn’t diss or attack @annecurtissmith directly...
...but I have strong opinions about off-key singers. Anne herself doesn’t identify as a singer. I respect that and said so today.
"So before anyone decides to launch an attack because of what I said, which I stand by, find out exactly what I said in full, and in context.
"There are people calling themselves singers without the talent to justify it, taking away business from those that rightly deserve it.
"That is what burns me, and is insulting to all singer-craftsmen, gifted artists that work so hard and need to be heard and patronized."
HATE CAMPAIGN.
Aniya sa Twitter, "No actually, I’ve been getting cussed out by total strangers in the last couple of days, so I got curious. Block button’s busy."
"I’ve gotten my fair share. Name it, I’ve probably been called it from behind the comfort of a computer screen and keyboard."
"What kind of person would cuss someone out on Twitter? Duwag o matapang? Coward or brave?"
