Ai-Ai delas Alas stars in ABS-CBN'S new late-afternoon soap, Wako-Wako, to premiere on March 5, 2012.
The comedy queen, who plays the role of Dyosa Marishka, is cast with Maricar de Mesa, Gladys Reyes, Vandolph Quizon, Dennis Padilla, Carlos Agassi, Markki Stroem, and child actor Yogo Singh.
At the fantaserye's press conference held today, March 1, at the 55 Events Place, Scout Rallos, Quezon City, the actress appeared before the invited members of the press in a flowing peach and white gown—a costume she will get caught wearing in the soap.
During the press conference proper, the actress expressed her gladness for being granted another project right after her last primetime show, My Binondo Girl, concluded on January 20, 2012.
Ai-Ai said, "A, siyempre, masaya ako at binibigyan nila ako ng importansiya.
Wako Wako, derived from "huwag kang matakot," is among the many projects that television show and film director Wenn Deramas and Ai-Ai teamed up in. These include the Ang Tanging Ina three-movie-parter, BFF: Best Friends Forever, Ang Cute ng Ina Mo, and Volta.
AI-AI'S NEW SQUEEZE. When the series of questions segued into the latest update on the award-winning comedy actress' lovelife, Ai-Ai initially uttered, "Naman."
In her interview last Sunday, February 26, on showbiz talk show The Buzz, the actress admitted that she is currently in a relationship with a 28-year-old car company executive.
"Unti-untiin natin. 'Wag natin siyang biglain sa show business!"
At the question "Kailan ka pa natuto ng salitang private?" which was thrown in jest, Ai-Ai retorted: "Ngayon pa lang kasi nirerespeto niya ako at nirerespeto ko siya."
Does that imply that her past suitors and lovers treated her without respect?
Ai-Ai laughs off the question: "Oo, bastusan kami!"
Further provoked, the actress was asked if she preferred being respected or not, to which she replied, "Siyempre nirerespeto.
Such a remark goes without saying that Ai-Ai and her latest squeeze are "just getting to know each other."
"Respeto pa lang," as the actress put it.
Ai-Ai further revealed during the press conference that she puts weight on what her children feel and think about the men she dates.
Ai-Ai is a single parent to her two sons, Sancho, 21, Shaun Niccolo, 18, and daughter Sofia, 15.
"And yung pinaka-crucial nun, yung babae, si Sofia, kasi yun yung medyo suplada.
"And in fairness naman itong si ano, nakapasa."
Prodded to finally name her boyfriend, Ai Ai answers, "FPG—'Feeling Parang Jowa!'"
UNTI-UNTI LANG. More questions were thrown at Ai-Ai regarding the subject matter.
In the fantaserye Wako Wako, people are granted wishes but are expected to give back something in return.
Asked how such a principle from her new show applies to her lovelife, Ai-Ai replied, "A, siguro, siguro maa-apply yun kasi, di ba, sabi nila, 'pag okay yung career mo, minsan kapalit lovelife?
No proposals yet, said an appalled Ai Ai: "Hindi pa! Getting to know pa lang kami! Wala namang proposal. Dyusko, nakaka-stress naman 'yan!
The actress also mentioned that her special someone is so far getting along with her children.
"Nakikisama is the right term.
"So, sabi niya, 'Mukhang proper.' Alam mo naman lola mo, di ba? Pa-proper!"
The actress further stressed that she means to keep mum on the details of her new relationship.
"Oo, kaya 'pag yung tinatanong siya about... in show business, sabi ko, 'Unti-unti lang.'
"Hayaan muna natin na makasanayan niya yung show business..."
In proper time, said Ai-Ai, she will introduce her new man.
Is the Comedy Queen ready to get married again?
"Bakit naman hindi?" replied Ai-Ai.
Is she undaunted by their age difference?
