TV5 President and CEO Atty. Ray Espinosa believes MTRCB order to suspend T3 is "illegal"

It was not only uncalled for but also runs counter to the established Code of Ethics that we all strictly adhere to."

Saad niya, “We do not agree with the acts taken by the MTRCB.

"In fact, we will question the legality of the suspension, the 20-day preventive suspension of the show T3.

“We want to emphasize that the errors or the misbehavior of a talent must be treated separately from a news program or a platform.

“Talents are dealt with in accordance with the codes of ethics of each of the networks, but a news program cannot be suspended by MTRCB as a regulator.”

Ayon pa sa kanya, ito raw ay labag sa freedom of the press.

“They issued the suspension order today. We will respect that order, although we believe that that is an illegal order, for the reason that the network is under the jurisdiction of the MTRCB.

“We will file a case as early as tomorrow, to question the constitutionality of that order. We believe that the order represents a violation of the freedom of the press,” saad niya.

“TV5 came out with with a statement on the same day that the incident took place, saying that we do not condone the bahavior of the Tulfo brothers, and that we would fully apply the code of ethics of the network upon them, which as you know, happened, and they are suspended up to Friday.”

Saad pa niya, “Well, first of all, let me clarify that the suspension of the Tulfo brothers covers not just the appearance as hosts or talents in T3, but in all of their live programs in TV5, Aksyon TV, and Radyo Singko.

"And the reason for that is that suspension. And the reason for that is suspension is imposed on them as talents. So it affects all of their live shows in all of our platforms.”

“Well, the matter is already before the courts. Our advise to them is to leave it to the proper forum to discuss the matter,” pahayag niya.
