Kuh Ledesma no plans of joining politics again

“I’m not closing my door. But I don’t have plans right now kasi iba ‘yong ginagawa ng Diyos sa buhay ko ngayon,” says Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma about focusing more on religious ministry instead of pursuing a career in politics.

“Nagbago na ang buhay ko, e."

This is what Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) when asked why she decided to come up with a worship music album.

The 17-track album titled Fragrance of Worship, according to Kuh, is her “gift” to people.

“Ito ‘yong prinamis [promised] ko na gagawin ko kay Lord.

“Kasi, I share my testimonies about how I found the Lord our God sa mga churches.

“But this, I believe, will reach more people na hindi ko napupuntahan,” she explained in an interview after signing a contract with Universal Records last June 4.

Kuh has already accomplished a lot of things in her singing career, which is spanning more than three decades. This includes a number of released albums, concerts here and abroad, and even acting stints in movies and theater.

Like all these opportunities, Kuh said that her latest album is also a big blessing to her.

Aside from connecting to a wider audience, the album also becomes “the way para makita ko clearly na ginagamit ako ng Diyos para madala pa ako sa maraming tao.”

Aside from the songs included in the album, Fragrance of Worship also features personal testimonies and inspirational stories of Kuh as a Born-Again Christian.

NO TO POLITICS FOR NOW. Meanwhile, as early as May, there were already celebrities who declared their intention to run for a political seat in the coming 2013 elections.

During the interview, Kuh was asked by ABS-CBN reporter Mario Dumaual if she’s still interested to join politics.

It can be recalled that in 2001, the Pop Diva joined PINATUBO Party List as its first nominee for Congress. The group aims to alleviate poverty in the country through grassroots development.

While she still believes in cause of the group, Kuh seems to have diverted her focus to the church.

“My life has changed na talaga. Hindi pala ‘yon ang pinakita sa akin ng Panginoon na dapat kong gawin,” Kuh told the reporters.

But the local diva was quick to clarify that she is not speaking finished words.

“Hindi ko masasabi rin kung ‘yon ang talagang clearly na daan,” she said.

“Kasi, ang Diyos kapag nagplano sa buhay mo, hindi naman niya pinapakita ‘yong lahat-lahat. It unfolds, paunti-unti ‘yan.”

If there’s an opportunity, Kuh said, “I’m not closing my door.”

Then, she continued, “But I don’t have plans right now kasi iba ‘yong ginagawa ng Diyos sa buhay ko ngayon.

“Pero kung bubuksan naman Niya ang pintuan diyan and we will get support from people, bakit hindi.”
