What would celebrities do before the “end of the world”?

“Siguro mas maigi kung iisipin natin the end will really come, maybe not yet, maybe soon, so that if we will live our lives every day iisipin natin dapat, wala tayong maaagrabyadong tao, maging masaya tayo, magmahal tayo,” says Dingdong Dantes (left) about the “end of the world” prediction.

Piolo Pascual (right) and Ruffa Gutierrez (center) also give their thoughts.

In the Hollywood disaster film 2012 (2009), the so-called end of the world was related to the end of the Mayan “Long Count” calendar, which is said to be on December 21, 2012.

The movie starring John Cusack shows how people all over the world struggle to save their lives from a solar storm that causes different catastrophies on earth.

Although it looks like a warning about what would happen if the world would actually end, the film presents no concrete proof that this could actually happen.

Since the movie drew different opinions, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked local celebrities their opinions on the predicted doomsday.

Singer-actor Piolo Pascual just laughed at the idea and jokingly replied, “Gagawa ako ng bagong kalendaryo!”

Actor Rafael Rosell said, “It’s the end of the era.”

The Temptation of Wife actor added, “I think after December 21, people will be more united in their way of thinking, na mas gagamitin natin yung puso natin kesa sa utak dahil ang utak natin left and right, separation of right and wrong. Pero ang puso natin iisa so, there’s unity. There’s no more right or wrong.”

Dingdong Dantes sees this “end of the world” idea as an opportunity for people to realize that they must do good things towards other people.

The Pahiram ng Sandali actor said, “Hindi ko siya gustong paniwalaan, siyempre. Madami namang beliefs, e. Pero at the end of the day, what matters is our outlook in life, e, kung paano natin gustong tratuhin ang mga ganitong klaseng premonition.

“Pero siguro mas maigi kung iisipin natin the end will really come, maybe not yet, maybe soon, so that if we will live our lives every day iisipin natin dapat wala tayong maaagrabyadong tao, maging masaya tayo, magmahal tayo.

“So, if the world will end tomorrow, the next minute or now, kahit papaano hindi tayo magre-regret na hindi natin nagawa ang mga gusto nating gawin.”

ADVENTURE OR STAY WITH FAMILY? If the prediction were true, what would the celebrities do before the end of the world?

Enrique Gil: Siguro, gusto kong mag-sky diving. I wanna travel muna the world and go sky diving para makita ko ‘yong buong mundo, di ba?

John James Uy: First of all, I’d like to go to the top of Mount Everest and just jump and just fly.

I’m okay with just me and God because it’s gonna be end of the world naman, I’m gonna die in that way. I just wanna fly from the top of Mount Everest, free fall.

Ruffa Gutierrez: For the last time, I wanna travel all over the world with my loved ones, my family, and the love of my life.

Whoever he is, sana magpakita na siya para I can travel the whole world with him.

Xian Lim: Gusto kong gawin ‘yong parang birthday ko, nandoon lahat and they surprised me, sana ganun din.

Sana every one is just here to surprise me or anyone I know is there.

Solenn Heusaff: Spend time na lang with my family and boyfriend and friends. Dapat lahat kami sa isang area lang.

Nothing extravagant. No need for good memories kasi patay na kami after, e.
