Iza Calzado spent the holidays with her boyfriend in Sydney; says they’re not yet settling down

Iza Calzado spent the holidays with her boyfriend and his family in Sydney, Australia. Though they’re happy and confident about their relationship, Iza says that settling down is not yet in their plans because “we have both our careers to focus on at this point.”

Sabi ni Iza, “I opted to spend it outside the country.

"I was very happy but of course I missed my family, my father.

“Of course, di ba, I would have wanted... if I have it my way, I would have wanted to spend it with my whole family.

“E, since wala nga, wala na nga, with the family of my boyfriend na lang.

“It was a very good decision, [and] it was always nice to see a family celebrate.

“Since iyon nga, have a simple celebration, just being together which is the essence of being a family—just being together.

"It was wonderful to see that.

“So maybe one day I could have my own.”

SETTLING DOWN.

“We have both our careers to focus on at this point.

"Kasi siyempre if I settle down, that means I have to take a break—I’m not ready for that.

“Kailangan maximize the opportunity that’s been given to me, especially by ABS-CBN, at this point of my career.”

HOSTING CAREER.

Kuwento niya, “[The first Sunday] Tito Boy asked me but I can’t because I’m flying to Iloilo for ASAP.

"Matututo na lang ako, tutal that’s also how I started acting, I learned by doing.

“But of course with hosting and because… you know when I started, like a lot of eyes were on me, so if I make a mistake, that’s fine, somehow it’s a little more pressure.

“But at the same time, at the end of the day, you have to enjoy it.

"Kasi the more you pressure yourself, the more the work will come out not as good as how you want it to be.”

“This year is for me! I claim it!” bulalas pa ni Iza.
