Zanjoe Marudo not settling down with Bea Alonzo anytime soon: “Bata pa si Bea. Marami pa siyang puwede gawin.”

Zanjoe Marudo is on a roll. The Kapamilya hunk, who recently shined in the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival entry One More Try, will soon star in a soap with actress Angel Locsin. On top of his ongoing stint in gag show Banana Split, the actor hints that his most-awaited launching movie is underway. His inspiration, he tells, is no other than his girlfriend, actress Bea Alonzo: “Mas lumakas ang loob ko na magsikap para sa future.&rd

Zanjoe Marudo shared a simple but unique Valentine’s Day with real-life girlfriend Bea Alonzo.

The date consisted of a delectable nine-course meal with piano music playing on the background—this, the hunky actor told entertainment writers on Tuesday night, February 19, at the press conference of gag show Banana Nites at Seafood Island restaurant along Mother Ignacia Avenue, Quezon City.

The date took place in Bea’s residence, which Zanjoe thought would be the perfect place to set-up such a lovely dinner.

“Kakaiba ngayon, e. Hindi kami lumabas. So, hindi na kami nakipagsabayan sa mga tao.”

According to the actor, Bea had to work whole day on Valentine’s Day. It was fortunate that the couple had the night to themselves.

The One More Try actor recalled that he told about his plans to Bea, pre-Valentine’s.

It was not really a surprise date, in effect— “Pinapaalam ko naman. Hindi lang siya naniniwala kapag binabanggit ko. Kala niya nagbibiro lang ako!” he said laughing.

He said that their date made Bea happy. As always, she is not hard to please.

“Masayang-masaya siya sa tingin ko kasi parang hindi pa namin naggagawa yun na nasa bahay lang,” Zanjoe offered.

“So para kaming nag-rent ng isang lugar para mag-date, walang tao, pero yung mga nagsi-serve sa amin, mga tao rin niya!”

A few of Bea’s staff were in fact present to help Zanjoe carry out the plan.

The actor added, chuckling, that he and his girlfriend were so full by the time they reached the fifth course. Their stomachs did not allow them to have dessert.

There was no fancy Valentine’s Day gift-giving for one of today’s hottest showbiz couples. Zanjoe said that he and Bea do not practice that on heart’s day. He did give her flowers, however.

PROPOSAL UNDERWAY? It did not occur to Zanjoe to propose to his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day. The actor who has been in a relationship with Bea for almost two years now, perfectly knows now is not the time.

He joked that Bea’s mother might not allow it just yet: “Baka pagalitan ako ni Tita Mary Ann. Kasi bawal pa, hindi pa puwede.

“Pero siyempre, wala naman akong iniisip kung hindi lahat, papunta naman doon, e,” the actor said, referring to marriage.

Do they talk about settling down?

Not meaning to brush it aside, Zanjoe stated, “Nagbibiruan minsan lalo na pag nandiyan yung mommy niya. Niloloko namin!”

It is not that Bea’s mother forbids it, the model turned actor also pointed out, “Siyempre kasi, marami pang priorities tapos marami pang kailangan trabahuhin.

“Unang-una kasi, nag-iisa siyang babae. Tapos, hindi pa naman ganun ka-ready.

“Bata pa si Bea. Marami pa siyang puwede gawin. Baka lang hindi maging maganda para sa kanya.”

INSPIRED. Bea motivates Zanjoe to do well in his job.

The actor, who made quite a presence in last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry One More Try, in fact, has major projects underway this year—a soap with actress Angel Locsin and a launching movie under Star Cinema. He refused to give away information about his pending projects.
