Cecile Ongpauco tells Heart Evangelista "to make amends to her father before it’s too late"

Cecile Ongpauco says about Heart Evangelista’s dad, Rey Ongpauco: "He just couldn’t eat and [Heart] knows her dad has a lot of... You know, he’s turning 70 and he’s not very vocal about what he feels. But I had to call my other doctor to come because I could feel his pain and he couldn’t eat anymore. He was choking when I was trying to make him eat. And he just doesn’t deserve that because he’s been the best fathe

Kuwento ni Mrs. Ongpauco, “She texted her father, and her father was very, very hurt yesterday.

“And so I felt sorry for my husband because he’s not used to… You know, parang our family is very conservative, kasi we’re parang old school.

"And no one of the kids has ever, ever done that to him.”

Patuloy ng ina ni Heart, “It’s just very hurtful for her father and he couldn’t eat anymore.

“He just couldn’t eat and she knows her dad has a lot of... You know, he’s turning 70 and he’s not very vocal about what he feels.

“But I had to call my other doctor to come because I could feel his pain and he couldn’t eat anymore. He was choking when I was trying to make him eat.

“And he just doesn’t deserve that because he’s been the best father to my children.

"And dapat hindi ganun because we didn’t raise her [Heart] that way.”

Ani Mrs. Ongpauco, “Yes. He tried.

"And then he couldn’t any more eat. He took na his medication for his heart and his hypertension.

“I was trying to give him water para to calm down… And then I tried to call my doctor to try to, you know, lift up his spirits, ganun na.

“He just doesn’t deserve this.

"Heart, your dad doesn’t deserve this. You’ve done all these things to me but your father does not deserve this. No, he does not.

“You know how much your father loves you,” mangiyak-ngiyak na wika niya.

And that’s the very first time that any of our kids has ever done that to their father.

"Heart, hindi ka namin pinalaking ganun, you know that.

“Ako, puwede pa, e. It’s okay, ako, not dad.

"He’s been the very best father to you, Heart.”

Aniya, “A mother will always forgive. A mother will always forgive, and she knows that.

“Ganun, e, di ba. I told her, ’You’ll know that when you become a mother yourself.’

“Kaya hindi maputol-putol yung umbilical cord ko. Ganun, e. Feeling ko nakakabit pa rin, e. Pinutol na nga, e.

“Kaya you have to let go. Yun. Let go and let God.”

“As I say again, we have no problems with our daughter.

"We are best friends. Heart and I are best friends.

“Like sa GMA contract signing, ginagano’n-gano’n ako. Gano’n kami, magbarkada."

Patuloy ni Mrs. Ongpauco, “I treat my children like gano’n, barkada, best friend, nanay… sometimes laundry woman, taga-grocery, I’m the mayordoma and secretary.

“I’m her extended grocery, I do her grocery, I’m looking after her laundry, laundry ko kasama rin.

“[She’ll tell me], ‘Mom, I need nail polish or massage,’ gano’n-gano’n lang kami.

“And minsan hihilahin ako, ‘Mom, we have to do Zumba,’ so the other day, pinagtatawanan ako sa Zumba.

Actually, no.

"A mother will always forgive, at the end of the day… alam niya ‘yon, e.

"Isang kiliti niya lang diyan, ‘Ma! Chu, chu…’

“But ngayon, all I can say is she will have to make amends to her father, before it’s too late.

“Before it’s too late, because there’s a lot of conditions now and he just does not deserve this.

“A mother will always be a mother, but father, you know, who has been I think the best father any person, any child can be blessed with, simply does not deserve this.

"Yun lang.”
