Bamboo Mañalac finally finds his “place” via The Voice

Contrary to what he had thought before, Bamboo said that it was really difficult turning down other contestants in The Voice.

Excited na sa pagsisimula ng reality-based singing competition na The Voice si Bamboo Mañalac na isa sa mga magiging celebrity coaches/judges. Bukod sa kanya, sina Lea Salonga, Apl de Ap at Sarah Geronimo ang iba pang magiging coaches.

Ang nasabing programa ay franchise ng reality singing show from the US at ang Philippine edition ay ie-ere sa ABS-CBN, kung saan si Toni Gonzaga ang main host. Nakatakda itong magsimula ngayong Hunyo.

Kuwento ni Bamboo nang mag-taping sila para sa programa, “When I started the show, I wanted to find someone with a true original voice. That was my goal.”

I wanted to know [why the contestants] really want to be part of the business. It’s a different game.”

Dugtong pa ng pop-rock singer, “I’ve been here for 20 years. It took me a while to find my place and say this is what I want to do for life, you know what I mean? I want to discover that and to be a coach.”

SENSITIVE COACH.

“Well, I can say [that] I’m very in-the-moment, very genuine ako, e.

“At very sensitive din ako. Even yung nasabi ko yung blind audition namin over a hundred singers na mag-a-audition [ang], mangyayari nga e, most of the time magno-no ka lang, e.

That was I think the hardest.”

Pero hindi pala, that was very hard and difficult for me to say no.

“We’ll see what happens. I’ll try to be myself as much as possible,” pag-amin ni Bamboo.

A FAN OF THE VOICE.

“I’m grateful, I’m happy to be part of it. I’m a big fan of the show, yung sa US.

“Naniniwala ako sa show, e, sa meaning ng show na maghanap ng totoong boses—a pure voice ng totoong artist. Yun ang goal ko, so sana mangyari ’yan,” panalangin niya.

Paglalarawan ni Bamboo, hindi lalayo sa mechanics ng US edition ang Philippine edition, at kung may pagkakaiba man daw, “Of course may flavour natin. Yun ang masasabi ko, and of course, Pinoy tayo, may sarili tayong… I guess di mo maaano na ma-impose ang culture natin sa show.”
