Charlene Gonzalez on husband Aga Muhlach’s failed Congress bid: "I love him one hundred million times because of what he did and what he’d been through."

"Kasi, by this time, a lot of people have already formed their own opinion, di ba?

“And I do realize na anuman ang sasabihin ko may entail a lot of major consequences.

"And kaya ang pinag-usapan namin ni Aga, we will allow to follow its due process."

"I LOVE HIM ONE HUNDRED MILLION TIMES."

Aniya, “Pero having said that, what I can say is that sobra akong nagpapasalamat talaga sa naging experience namin ni Aga.

“Really, [it] just made me love... what we’ve been through just made me love Aga even more.

“Because talaga, I loved him a million times. Now, I love him one hundred million times because of what he did and what he’d been through.

He fought for what he believes in.

“And from the beginning, marami talaga ang nagsasabi sa kanya na parang tutol sa desisyon niya na pumasok sa sa panibagong larangan.

"But it was his desire, his interest, yung kanyang hangarin that kept him going, and really gave him the strength and me to push through with this endeavor.

“Now, we all know the path here... [there are] many times to discredit Aga and me many times.

"And I feel, you know, from taking our right to vote, to residency, to citizenship at kung anu-ano pang pinagdaanan po namin in the past year...

“But I feel, kung ano po ang nangyari po sa amin, it is a personal victory within itself na umabot po kami dito. Lumabas ang pangalan ni Aga sa balota.

“And during this whole process, I became too proud of Aga because he showed so much strength.

"Alam po niya na hindi magiging madali ang laban sa kanya but, still, he went through it against all odds.

“And I really admire him even more today because yung laban ni Aga was not...

"There was a point in time, during this whole thing, it wasn’t about Aga anymore but it was really the fight for the people.

“And through this process, we’ve made many friends.

“A lot of friendship and a lot of people supported us along the way.

"And there are so many things that you learn in a journey like this.

“One thing that I have learned that I say today is that I’ve learned to speak up. I’ve learned to have my voice.

"I’ve learned to have the strength and courage to say na it’s okay na ipaglaban ninyo po ang inyong karapatan.

“That’s one of the major lessons I’ve learned here.”

Ayon pa kay Charlene, “Another one that I’ve learned, you know, we never really know what happens in our life.

"There are obstacles that are thrown our way but we really don’t know the answer.

“I don’t really know why ganito po ang nangyari sa amin ngayon, but I know one day I’ll be able to look back and say, ’Ay, kaya pala.’”

THE BIGGEST LESSON.

“There’s so much that I want to say but I’m limited to the legal parameter that comes along with this situation.

“And during the last two weeks of election, celebrating my birthday that by the way, best birthday celebration that I had, nag-celebrate kami sa barangay namin. Nagkaroon kami ng sayawan, tapos nagkaroon kami ng fiesta.

“Mother’s Day, tapos election, there were so much happening and it’s amazing how much strength you actually have knowing when you’re fighting for the intention of other people.

“Another great lesson that I’ve learned is that, really, how this experience have changed me.

“But going through something like this, you realize that you can make a difference in someone’s life.

"You just have to take the risk and I don’t regret any moment of it.

“The biggest lesson I would say, sa akin at kay Aga, ay yung mga tao, partido na nagmahal at sumuporta po sa amin.

"After a couple of days, walang nangyari, lumabas po sila sa kalye at nagkaroon sila ng people power.

"It’s just so overwhelming how you can touch so many people’s lives.

"And I always say, kahit papaano, I hope in the past years, kami ni Aga, nakapagbigay po kami ng inspirasyon.

"Because that’s where our dream started—with just one inspiration.

Basta I will show up there on Tuesday to support Aga.

“And I know Toni [Gonzaga], kahit wala ka doon physically, palagi kang nagti-text sa akin, I know in your heart and in your mind...”

“Wow, actually, I haven’t thought beyond today,” sabi ng TV host.

“Aga has ’til May 31 to make final decision in his next step on what he wants to do. How he would prosper.

"I guess, in a right form, in a right field, lalabas din po ang katotohanan—in time.

“I still believe in our judicial system and talagang we’ll prevail in time.”

WHERE IS AGA?

Sabi rin niya, “I hope that in our own little way, Aga and I were able to inspire you.

"And may we continue to inspire all of you in the same token that all of you have brought Aga and I happiness and inspiration.
