Rafael Rosell’s first impression of Bianca King: “mataray.”
At the launch of his endorsement Blaise, skin care range of Nisce for men, held earlier, June 18, he related:
“… Nakikita ko siya sa Party Pilipinas, ‘hi, hello,’ akala ko nga mataray siya sa umpisa ‘no, kasi sa looks niya, parang akala ko medyo sosyal.”
But it turned out, “She’s super down to earth, cowboy siya, sobra siyang magaling mag-alaga sa set, shini-share niya lahat ng nararamdaman niya sa akin para hindi na ‘ko magku-question ng, ‘Okay ka lang ba?’”
In short, “She’s amazing.”
Though it’s their first time to work with each other in Maghihintay Pa Rin, they didn’t have a hard time getting past the awkward stage.
Rafael affirmed, “Yung sharing at bonding namin sa Singapore, sobrang worth it talaga para sa show.”
Do you have a crush on her?
He answered the question but requested, “Huwag niyo nang sabihin [ang sagot ko].”
But is there any possibility of falling for her?
His quick reply, “Yeah, I told her there’s a danger for that.
“Pero habang nagtatrabaho kami sa soap, as much as possible, let’s keep it professional dahil, naniniwala ako sa sumpa na yun, e, na kapag pinatulan mo yung partner mo, nawawala yung tensiyon, nawawala yung chemistry.”
Hence, before the onset of their taping, he asked two things from Bianca.
First, “Sabi ko, ‘For now, let’s just focus on the soap, and, you know, let’s just bond…’ Sabi niya, ‘Yeah.’”
Second, “I asked her din a favor dahil hindi ko alam kung may boyfriend siya o may mga nanliligaw, I’m sure, maraming nanliligaw sa kanya…
“Pero sabi ko rin sa kanya na, ‘Pabor lang na kung maaari, huwag mo munang sagutin yung mga nanliligaw sa ‘yo para hindi ka rin ma-restrict sa puwede mong gawin sa show.’”
The latter, Rafael said, has something to do with a previous experience.
He continued, “Dahil I’ve worked with people like that, may boyfriend, nahihirapan kahit parang hawakan lang sa shoulder, naaano na sila…
“Para sa akin, you can’t be janitor and I’m not gonna clean toilet. You can’t be a soccer player and I’m not gonna kick the ball, di ba.
“If you’re a soccer player, you have to kick the ball, if you’re a janitor, you have to clean everything, if you’re an actress, you have to portray everything, without limitations or restrictions.
“And I think you only do that if you don’t have someone on the side telling you not to do this.”
Bianca is the ex-girlfriend of Dennis Trillo, who happens to be a fellow talent of Rafael in Luminary, which is being managed by Popoy Caritativo. If ever he decides to court Bianca, is he going to tell Dennis about it?
Rafael said, “Si Dennis kasi is a good friend of mine… same manager, parang kapatid ko na rin yun, e, at matindi rin yung bonding namin sa New York.
“At ahm, there’s such a thing as a bro code na if ever [ligawan ko si Bianca], magpapaalam muna.
“As much as possible, respetuhin na ex niya yun, so ah… Kaya sinabi ko kay Bianca, ‘For now, let’s just work and focus on soap muna,’ para walang complications talaga.”
But then, it’s still too early to assume things…
“Whatever it happens in the future, kung may mangyari man o hindi, let’s cross the bridge when we get there.”
MARIAN AND POPOY. Without meaning to drag him into the issue, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked about his take on the professional breakup of his fellow star in Temptation of Wife and his manager.
A pause before his response: “I think yung mga ganyang bagay, sa kanila na iyan, e. Kung anong relasyon ni Popoy at Yanyan [nickname of Marian], iba yung relasyon namin ni Popoy.
“So kung anong conflict meron sila, out na ako dun.
“Yeah, under the same management kami pero as a co-Luminary family, all I can do is just sit back and watch, be there for both of them.
“Dahil yung relationship ko kay Yanyan is different with relationship ni Popoy sa kanya, at yung relationship ko kay Popoy, different kay Yanyan…
“So, respeto na lang na magkaiba kaming relationship… Hindi rin ako kakampi dahil buhay nila yun, e.
“I’m not gonna tell them what to do.”
But as far as the management style is concerned, Rafael underlined, “Okay kami ni Popoy.”
Is he still in touch with Marian?
He said, “Okay kami ni Yanyan. Nag-i-Instagram kami.”
Lastly, the issue did not affect the way he sees the two.
His parting shot: “I want to show people what a good example I can be without jumping into those drama.”
