Sabi niya, “Man, I really don’t think about that stuff… I cannot.
“I don’t see that I’m [an institution].
"Just like I always say, I’m just in the moment. I’m just moving forward. I’m just playing my music.
“It’s always about what’s new for me, so what[ever] I have done, that’s my past, that’s been my life.
"But pushing, moving forward, that sort is my thing.
“That’s what defines what I do as an artist, as a singer, as a songwriter. That’s what I enjoy the most.
“It’s always what’s next, it’s about what’s next.”
WANTS TO BE NATURAL ON TV.
“I did not watch it because I don’t watch myself.
“I just get feedback from my friends, people that I trust. I asked them what happened and they told me how it went."
I just don’t want to watch myself because I don’t wanna second-guess myself.
“I wanna be as natural as possible when I’m on camera.”
“I’m sure I will, but I just have a hard time watching myself even on whatever TV show,” sabi niya.
“If I see something I don’t like, I might try to change, I might sort of change that.
“I don’t wanna be rehearsed. I wanna be as raw as possible. I wanna be in the moment as possible, so that’s my thing.
“And if I see myself, ‘Oh, man, you should have smiled here or whatever,’ or ‘You should have looked at this angle.’
“I’m like a filmmaker also. I majored in film so if I see something that I don’t like, things might run in my head, ayoko ‘yon.”
“I’m excited, I am very excited. Can’t wait for this to get going.
“It’s my chance to play coach, be a mentor, to be a coach.
“I’ve been here for so long, so it’s time to pay it forward.”
