Ruffa Gutierrez says the next man she will love must be "pretty amazing"

Ruffa Gutierrez on falling in love again: “You know, the person must be pretty amazing. Kasi, I’m very happy with my life now. I’m not answerable to anyone. I can do my own thing. So, for me, to sit down and tame me, kailangan bongga siya. He has to be strong and he has to protect me and he has to love my kids and love me too.”

“It changed. I did Secret and Spies: Modern Espionage and Intelligence.

"It’s a very interesting course dahil siyempre, alam naman natin ang nangyari kay Edward Snowden and all the files niya.

"Siyempre, technology ngayon, ibig sabihin, we’re being watched. Hindi ka na talaga puwedeng magtago.”

Si Edward Snowden ang American computer specialist na nagtrabaho para sa CIA at NSA at nag-leak ng mga detalye sa ilang top-secret mass surveillance na isinasagawa ng United States at British government sa press.

Bakit yun ang kinuha niyang kurso?

Sabi ni Ruffa, “It was something political economy kasi. You know, I really wanted International Relations and Diplomacy, more application.

"So, it’s more economic talaga—World Bank, GDP, a lot of numbers, which is something that, I’m sorry, I’ll really get bored with.

“This is something intensive, academic course. But I wanted to flourish also, not just academically but socially.

"A lot of people are saying na, ’Naku, Ruffa, nag-aral ka ba talaga? We see you in Spain, in France.’

"But that’s the beauty of being based in London.

“It’s like in Manila, being an hour away from anywhere.

"So my classes was from Monday to Thursday. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Then, on Thursday, I’m off na for the weekend.

"So, alangan namang studies pa rin. Can I socialize naman?”

LIFE IN LONDON. Three weeks lang daw ang kursong kinuha niya.

Pero ayon kay Ruffa, “It’s really a month because you need a week to prepare.”

Itutuloy ba niya ang kanyang kurso?

“Why not? Actually, I want to do it again next year and may mga baon na akong friends.

"I really encourage everyone. I think it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”

Kuwento pa ni Ruffa, “You know what, I have a classmate who is 50 years old, CEO of a company.

"Of course, you have 20 years old naman who’s doing it for extra credits.

"Aside from the friends that I already have in London, marami pa kong nakilala.

“And living alone, hindi talaga ko marunong magluto... sorry!” tawa niya.

“Sabi ng mga friends ko, ’Eto na, you have to immerse yourself.’ So, I consider this as immersion.

"Kasi, living alone... when was the last time I lived alone?

"I have kids na. I was married. So, hello, parang 18 pa lang yata ako when I was living alone.”

“Well, ang totoo, because of Metro magazine cover. We were shooting in Florence, Italy and Milan.

"So, siyempre, na-excite na ako. ’Ay, we’re gonna go to Italy, we’re gonna shoot there!’

"Of course, baka one week, magha-holiday ako.

“So, sabi ko, this is the opportunity for me to really pursue what I really wanted to do.

"I mean, it’s not a Master’s course. It’s not a university but, you know, this is my journey.

"And even if it’s just a summer course, it’s a time well spent na talagang hindi lang ako naglalakwatsa dun. It’s knowledge na magagamit ko in the future.

“It’s not for work, it’s something that you wanna keep on learning.

"It’s something that I wanna impart my children that education is really important.”

FUTURE FIRST LADY? Noong last day na lang daw nalaman ng mga kaklase niya na isa siyang actress at beauty queen.

Ayon kay Ruffa, “Naloka sila. Nalaman na lang nila noong last day.

"Noong malaman nila na two million ang followers ko [sa Twitter], sabi nila, ’Oh, my god, who are you?’”

Sabi pa ni Ruffa, “Ang course ko kasi, Secret and Spies, so yung activities namin, kailangan hindi mo ipapakilala ang sarili mo.

"We have things like that, may espionage. So, we have to guess kung sino talaga kami.”

“With everything that’s happening now? No way!” natatawang sabi niya.

“You know, the person must be pretty amazing.

"Kasi, I’m very happy with my life now. I’m not answerable to anyone. I can do my own thing.

"So, for me, to sit down and tame me, kailangan bongga siya.

“He has to be strong and he has to protect me and he has to love my kids and love me too.”

Dalawang taon na raw single si Ruffa.
