Miss World Megan Young: “No typhoon can bring Filipinos to their knees if we’ll be united.”

“No typhoon can bring Filipinos to their knees if we’ll be united.”

“Please hold on tight my dear Philippines… #unity”

“Praying for everyone that was struck by Yolanda.. My mom’s hometown, Antique, was also hit by the storm..”

“Thank you so much to all the countries that have been helping the Philippines! Thank you for helping us get through this… #unity #onelove”

“Ukay Alalay (@lo_young @saabmagalona) will be at this event selling old clothes/shoes. Some of my stuff will be sold as well. 100% of the funds raised will be going to the victims of #YolandaPH.”

Sabi ni Megan, “I’m a bit better, I’m not as shaken as I was a couple of days ago.

"I’ve been able to rest and analyze in my mind what has happened and now I’m a bit more relaxed and feeling better.”

Aniya, “I think it’s an eye-opener not only for me, but for everyone else.

"It’s something that people can look at and can see what’s going on and think about what they can do to help.

"I mean, you hear so much about beauty with a purpose. But what exactly is it?

"This is it. It’s about going to places that need the world’s support, finding out exactly what they need, and giving it to them.”

MORE CHARITY WORKS.

“Since we weren’t able to visit the area of Pestel, which is where our major Beauty with a Purpose project is, we will be coming back to see you and to finish our trip.

"I have seen the medical plans and the water bucket plans that are underway, and I can’t wait to share them with the people of the region.

"I also hope to raise money this year for the orphanage that we visited and at which the accident took place.

"The kids deserve a better living environment, and we hope to give that to them when we visit Haiti again.”

“Well, I have quite a lot of trips on the cards in the coming few months.

"I will be travelling back to New York in a few weeks where we have several Charity events going ahead.

"We aim to raise as much money for the Haiti relief fund and also to continue to raise awareness of the situation in the country.

"I will also be meeting with the Filipino community in New York, to meet them and raise funds for both Haiti and the Tuloy Foundation and the PGH.

"It should be a lot of fun, but also raise as much money as we can.

"I also have trips to Hong Kong, and to Jakarta, where we will be meeting with lots of interesting people, as well as catching up with MNC, the host partners of the Miss World 2013 competition.

"It’s a non-stop lifestyle being Miss World, and although it can be tough, I’m enjoying every second of it.”

GOING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.

“This year, I also hope to go home to the Philippines and spend time with the family, and hopefully get to visit PGH [Philippine General Hospital] and Tuloy Foundation to spend it with the kids there as well.”

“Every year, we go back to my family house in the province, and all my friends and their families come to the house.

"We have a big backyard where we lay out one table with lots of food that everybody brings.

"Since it’s warm in the Philippines, we have a barbecue out in the back and everybody is singing karaoke and dancing the night away.

"We don’t always have gifts, but the company is what we cherish the most about that night.

"It’s a nice time for everybody to get together and enjoy the company.”

“Oh, my gosh, I didn’t think about that!

"I like surprises so I’m excited to see what Santa has for me and I will probably lay out some milk and cookies for him too!”
