Vice-President Jejomar Binay defends Mayor Jun Jun Binay; Senator Nancy Binay cries foul over "biased" newspaper report

Vice-President Jejomar Binay (left) says the Dasmariñas incident involving his son Mayor Jun Jun Binay was blown out of proportion. Senator Nancy Binay (right), who was present during the altercation between her brother and the village security guards, claims the "malicious story" is a by-product of a hate campaign against their family.

NOTHING WRONG WITH SON’S ACTIONS.

“From what I have gathered, distorted naman ata ito sa totoong nangyari.

HATE CAMPAIGN AGAINST BINAY FAMILY?

“It is really heartwarming to know that there are people who are not swayed by the malicious story in the Inquirer and spiteful posts in social media. It is apparent that there are people bent on putting the name of my family in bad light.

“The so-called Dasmariñas incident happened three weeks ago and we have forgotten about it.

“What was reported in the Inquirer had glaring biases and bends. The video does not capture what really happened. No amount of explanation would satisfy those who have never-ending dislike for our family.

“All parties have already explained their sides and have resolved the matter civilly long before the news landed above-the-fold in the Inquirer.

“In the spirit of Christmas, I pray that we all work for peace and reconciliation instead of kindling hate. The issue has already been good-naturedly settled—all’s well that ends well. This is a season of giving and forgiving. Time to move on.

“To paraphrase a fave line, ’this is my first and last official statement on the incident’. Please understand if I can hardly take your calls at the moment. I hope you will allow me to have some private time with my kids and my family since Christmas is just a few days away. Maligayang Pasko!"

VILLAGE ASSOCIATION COMMENDS ACTION OF SECURITY GUARDS.

Pahayag pa ng DVA: “The agency has no right to say that there were lapses. There were no lapses in security [because] there were rules.

“If ever there will be courtesy exemptions to be extended to any government official, it will be the DVA that should say so, not the security agency.
