PEP EXCLUSIVE. Cedric Lee denies "extortion" allegation of Vhong Navarro’s camp: "I don’t need to resort to that kind of raket para kumita ng pera."

Cedric Lee says money has nothing to do with the mauling incident, involving Vhong Navarro, that transpired on January 22—to which model Deniece Cornejo accused the dancer/comedian/host of attempted rape.

"Why would I extort one million pesos from a Vhong Navarro, di ba?"

Businessman Cedric Lee, who’s into construction and mining businesses, said the mauling incident involving Vhong Navarro on January 22—to which a model named Deniece Cornejo accused the comedian of attempted rape—had nothing to do with money.

In a calm and contained tone, Cedric told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and YES! magazine in an exclusive phone interview held earlier, January 27:

"I don’t need to resort to that kind of raket para kumita ng pera.

"I’m a legitimate businessman"

We asked Cedric about the video that Vhong mentioned, what was it all about?

"Yung video po na tinutukoy niya, bago ko po tinurnover sa police station, kinunan ko yung mukha niya ng video para makita, para may evidence ako—ano yung extent ng damage that we inflicted on him.

"Para just in case he will report damage, tapos he blames it on us, may ebidensiya ako na hindi…"

DAMAGES... NOT EXTORTION. Cedric admitted to sending Vhong Navarro a text message about the "one million pesos."

But it was for the damages in the condo unit of Deniece in Forbeswood Heights, Rizal Drive, Bonifacio Global City, in Taguig City.

It was not a form of extortion.

Cedric said, "Nag-offer siya na he would pay for the damages, yung mga nabasag na gamit dun sa condo, babayaran niya."

Vhong initially offered "200 to 500 thousand pesos."

"And he agreed. He asked for the account number of Deniece.

I don’t want anything to do with money. Baka mamaya isipin mo, ako pang nag-iinteres diyan.’"

CEDRIC’S VERSION OF THE STORY. The main issue was "attempted rape."

He, sister Bernice Lee, friend Zimmer Raz, and Deniece were supposed to go out that evening.

We told him, "You seem to be a showbiz controversy magnet because this is not the first time you got dragged in an issue involving celebrities."

Then he went on narrating the incident.

"Tinatangka niyang [Vhong] reypin.

They tied him with a "duct tape."

And while inside the elevator, just before leaving for the police station, "dinamitan na namin siya [Vhong]."
