Piolo Pascual says box-office success is no longer his primary consideration

“I think in this business, it’s important that the movie makes money, ’di ba?” sabi ni Piolo sa bloggers’ conference ng upcoming movie niyang Starting Over Again, na magbubukas sa February 12, 2014.

“Pero personally, I guess I reached a point wherein mas gusto ko, I give it my best.

“Bonus na lang kung kumita, basta I know that I was a team player and I’ve been able to [entertain] the viewers.”

BEING THE CHARACTER.

“As an actor, I always go by feel.

I have to understand kung ano yung nararamdaman ng character para hindi siya mechanical,” pahayag niya.

“And in every character that I do, I make sure totoo siya na I feel it, so I don’t know kung ilang percent ng pagkatao ko yung andun sa character.

“But I try to be the character whenever I portray something.

“I make sure that that character lives in me and vice-versa.”

“One scene that stands out is a confrontation which was a big deal because that’s when I realized na gano’n ko siguro nirerespeto yung trabaho ko.

“That I just didn’t want a mediocre attack.

“It’s your responsibility as an actor para mabigyan mo ng justice [that’s] right for the character and you’re willing to cross boundaries.”

ON SECOND CHANCES AND CLOSURE. Sa personal na tanong kung naniniwala ba siya sa second chances o pangalawang pagkakataon para sa pag-ibig, ang tugon ni Piolo, "Yes, as long as you both love each other, as long as the other one is not hitched yet, nandun pa rin."

Ayon kay Piolo, “Case to case. For me, depende kung ano ang nangyari sa inyo when you guys broke up.

“If it’s a friendly breakup, there should be closure.

“But sometimes, I think it takes time to heal also and in any relationship, I think it’s really important to have one.”
