You Take My Breath Away,” “Never Gonna Give You Up,” “Love Will Always Make You Cry,” at “Everlasting Love.”
A CASE OF MISUNDERSTANDING.
“It was a case of misunderstanding.
"After lunch at Radisson Hotel in Cebu, Rex Smith decided to drop by the ballroom just to take a quick look at where he will be performing in the evening.
“He was not even aware that there will be another act featured before him… which was Charice. It was a corporate event.
“Upon entering the backstage, he went straight to the stage and made a comment about the set-up. He thought it was his set-up.
"’GET THE FUCK OFF MY STAGE!’ He was suddenly shouted at by this guy who turned out to be Charice’s Fil-Am musical director.
“We were all shocked!
"It was only then that we realized Charice was having a sound check.
"What Charice’s MD did was very un-Filipino. He should have said it in a nicer way.
“Rex would not have gone on stage if he knew someone else was having having a sound check.
"Rex loves Filipinos immensely and Filipinos love him back.
"Renen de Guia of Ovation Productions went to Charice and her group to sincerely apologize about the incident that they really didn’t know that she was doing a soundcheck.”
CHARICE WAS NOT THERE.
Salaysay ng source, “That day in Cebu, Rex Smith and Danee Samonte [promoter of Rex and owner of Steve O’Neal Productions] entered the venue for the sound check of Rex for the show later on.
“When Rex started coordinating with the technician, someone from the side of the stage suddenly shouted: ’Get off my stage!’
"It was so loud and came out of nowhere that everyone including Rex was taken aback.
“Eventually it was figured out that it was the musical director of Charice.
"Rex shouted back at him not knowing who he is.
"When this musical director started cursing, Rex cursed back.
“Danee decided to ask his artist liaison officer to take Rex back to his hotel room.
"Charice was not there during the whole incident.
"She was seen later on, on her way to the venue perhaps for her rehearsal with her whole entourage.
“Maybe nasa side ng stage.
"By the time she came out on stage, Rex was no longer there.
"They did not see each other.
"It was only Danee who was there. He apologized to everyone present [there were other production people and promoters there] if anyone was inconvenienced by the incident and left the venue.
"It was actually the musical director who got into a heated thing with Rex. He’s a Fil-Am.
“A PERFECT GENTLEMAN.”
Get off my stage!”
"I don’t know kung ano yung reasons, that’s the bottomline.
“You can ask everyone who was present at that soundcheck.”
Aniya, “Siyempre naman Rex is very disappointed.
"Rex is a perfect gentleman.
"He would never shout at a lady.
Paliwanag ni Danee, “I’ve extended my apologies for intruding their soundcheck, but hindi kami nanghihingi ng apology kay Charice ‘coz she wasn’t there.
“And Rex maintains his silence, he’s very silent, although he was very disappointed bakit na-drag ang pangalan ni Charice dun.
"Hindi siya kumibo, making him a perfect gentleman.
“I mean, if they want to muddle the truth, bahala sila.
"Basta, that’s the story. Wala si Charice dun.
"The bottomline is, yes, there’s an argument with the musical director, but Charice was never on stage.”
