Rachel Alejandro back in the concert scene

According Rachel Alejandro, it is more difficult for an original recording to become a hit today than it was before when FM stations were playing OPM songs that people listened to.

"It was so relaxed, ang saya lang.

"It was just me, Ogie [Alcasid] and some friends ang mga dumating, and I just thought na, ’Okay ’to, a.’

"It’s a good way to get back to some string of things.

"Kasi si Dingdong, very passionate ’yan... gusto niya lagi siyang nagpe-perform.

"Now, he’s the vice governor of Siquijor, pero I think first love niya talaga ang mag-perform.

Aniya, "Yeah, I did my own songs, a little bit of Michael Jackson, a lttle bit of Beatles and current songs, and yung pasabog na Zumba number.

"I knew kasi it’s something people will look forward to kasi it’s the music of our generation, e.

"Yung music of the ’90s."

"It’s also one sign that the country, slowly but surely, ay medyo... maganda-ganda ang [economy] natin these days, ’di ba?

"I feel it as a business owner myself and performer, na kahit sinasabing hindi raw nararamdaman ng masa or whatever, we’re on our way up.

"That’s a good thing that people are appreciating more and more the quality of life and that’s a sign of progress."

"And if you’re not one of the network stars, normally, it’s either na hindi ka na talaga nakikita o nagge-guest ka na lang sa talk shows and stuff.

"And ako naman, yung teleserye, I tried it and parang it’s not for me talaga.

"It’s not that I don’t want to act, it’s more of yung oras, e.

"Yung hours of taping, talagang ang hirap.

"And dahil I got so busy then with my business, promoting it.

"And we wrote pa yung Sexy Chef cookbook [with sister, chef Barni Alejandro-Rennebeck] and we’re doing mall shows pa.

"Then, meron pa ako cooking show na The Sexy Chef.

Nakangiting pahayag ng 40-year-old singer-entrepreneur, "It’s my first time to host a show.

"And what I discovered is that gusto ko pala siya.

"Nakakatuwa pa lang mag-host and that’s something na puwede ko rin palang ma-explore.

"I’ve hosted din kasi a few events, kung anu-ano, and I’m very comfortable hosting kaya it’s something na I can really get into.

"But for now, balik concert muna."

ENTERTAINMENT OUTLOOK.

Saad niya, "It becomes harder and harder for an original recording to become a hit compared sa panahon namin.

"’Di ba, that time, talagang merong gold records or platinum records na talagang... hindi manufactured, ha?

"Kasi that time, hit talaga na lahat ng radio stations ay tinutugtog at hindi yung heto ay binild-up ng network, hindi ganoon.

"Masuwerte kami, yun generation nina Ogie, Regine [Velasquez], kasi kami yung pretty much the last who would have hit albums na masasabi mong alam talaga yung mga kanta sa hit albums.

"Ngayon, hindi na masyado. Pero marami pa rin naman, there are some good OPM songs.
