Becca Tobin’s boyfriend has been found dead.
The Glee actress—who plays Kitty Wilde in the musical TV series—had joined Matt Bendik on a business trip to Philadelphia on Wednesday, July 9, but it is currently unclear where she was when the 35-year-old nightclub owner’s body was found in their hotel room on Thursday, July 10, afternoon by a maid.
According to TMZ, the couple had enjoyed a "normal" night with friends on Wednesday evening and returned to their hotel at some point.
The Philadelphia Medical Examiner would only confirm that Matt’s body had been found, but gave no other information.
Law enforcement sources have informed TMZ that an incident report taken by a detective at the scene states no drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol or medication were present in the hotel room following the death.
They added that no weapons of any sort were located at the scene and Matt’s body appeared to have suffered no physical harm.
The 35-year-old nightclub owner was found by a maid who entered the couple’s room the morning after what was described as a "normal" night with friends.
The businessman—who was "not known as a partier"—ran several major clubs around the US and was Director of Operations at DBA Nightclub in Los Angeles.
The nightspot posted a tribute to Matt outside, with a board reading: "We love you Matt."
Friends are said to be "shocked and devastated" by the news.
Becca, 28, joined Glee for the fourth season as a recurring cast member in her first major acting role, and was promoted to a regular for season five.
