Isabelle Daza travels to Italy to relax and recharge

Isabelle Daza on mom Gloria Diaz being her "harshest critic": “Most of her comments lang naman sa akin is I should smile more, bawasan ko raw ang masyadong naka-pout, I should look friendly. On my singing, wala naman siyang sinasabi. But I once heard her say I’m a good actress. I just don’t know if she means na umarte na lang ako kesa sa kumanta!”

Sabi ni Isabelle, “It’s only a brief vacation naman.

“I can’t have a very long one because may mga trabaho pa rin akong kailangang balikan.

“I just want this time to relax and recharge. Masyado lang tayong napagod for the past few months.

Kasalukuyan naman niyang sinu-shoot ang dalawang horror films—Mara, with Jasmine Curtis and Paulo Avelino, at Kubot: Aswang Chronicles, with Dingdong Dantes.

Saad niya, “I’ve never been this busy.

“I mean, when I entered showbiz, I thought that I would only do one show or one movie, and that’s it.

“Now, I’m overwhelmed by everything.

“Yes, nakakapagod, because I go from one set to another.

“Especially doing two movies at the same time with the same genre. Medyo serious pareho.

“At least, Somebody To Love is different.

“And we all have fun shooting because Direk Joey [Reyes] is so much fun to work with.

“And it’s also fun working with Iza Calzado and Matteo Guidicelli, who is a longtime friend of mine because we both train for the triathlon.

“’Tapos I am doing Niño pa where I play a lawyer.

“The last full teleserye I did was Faithfully noong 2012.

“It was hard for me because of the schedule.

“Parang ang hirap mag-commit, especially now that I’m also doing movies.

“Okey na sa akin yung guest roles, like this one in Niño.

“I did guest roles sa Genesis and Indio before.

“We get to go to different places, cook different foods, and have special celebrities as our guests.

“It’s fun to do the show mainly because kami ni Solenn, we’ve been friends since we were eight years old.

“We know each other very well, kaya we work well together.

“May times din naman na nag-aaway kami. Especially si Solenn, she gets mad at me when I’m late.

“Kasi siya, she arrives to the set very early at prepared na siya.

“When I come in late, she will make parinig sa akin. Ako naman, I just don’t say anything.

“I don’t take it against her kasi sanay na ako sa kanya.

“Noong mga teenagers pa kami, ganun na talaga kami—she’s always early and I’m always late!” sabay tawa ni Isabelle.

EAT BULAGA!

Eat Bulaga! opened me to so many things—things that I never thought I could do.

“Okey na ako sa hosting because before Eat Bulaga!, I was hosting Party Pilipinas, and then I was doing Manny Many Prizes.

“I do occasional hosting din for mga events, corporate parties.

“But being part of the Dabarkads, you have to go with the flow—you have to get their vibe and do what they do.

“Sa Eat Bulaga! lang ako napakanta at napasayaw. They made me do crazy things na first time kong ginawa.

“I am thankful to these people because they made me feel comfortable, welcome, and they unleashed things in me that I never thought I could do.

“Kaya sobra akong attached na with Eat Bulaga!. I’ve been with them for three years now and everything is going great.

Lahad niya, “My mom kasi, she says what comes to her mind. That makes her who she is.

“Most of her comments lang naman sa akin is I should smile more, bawasan ko raw ang masyadong naka-pout, I should look friendly.

“On my singing, wala naman siyang sinasabi.

“But I once heard her say I’m a good actress.

“I just don’t know if she means na umarte na lang ako kesa sa kumanta!” natatawang sabi ni Isabelle.
