Fashion designer Veejay Floresca cries foul over alleged discrimination at Valkyrie

Veejay Floresca speaks up on Valkyrie’s alleged discrimination towards transgenders. “We should not dehumanize people because of their decisions to be themselves. I want this to change," says the fashion designer who was allegedly denied entry twice at the said resto-bar in BGC, Taguig City.

“Let’s aim for [gender] equality.”

“I don't like ranting on Facebook, but I think this issue needs to be solved.

“Last night, I went to Valkyrie with a friend. I was on guest list.

“When I was about to get in, the bouncer refused to let me in because according to dress code policy, they don't allow cross dresser,” pagsisiwalat ni Veejay.

Patuloy na lahad ng fashion designer: “I smiled and showed them my California State ID.

"I said, ‘I'm female. I don't live here, I’m from California.’

“The bouncer apologized and allowed me to get inside.

“In my 3 years of living in the U.S. this never happened to me.

“To the people of Valkyrie, please have an open mind and understanding.”

Kuwento pa ni Veejay sa kanyang Facebook na may petsang June 21: “What happened to me last night was very sad.

“I still can't believe that some people still think transgenders as crossdressers.

“We should not dehumanize people because of their decisions to be themselves.

“I want this to change.

“Let's hope that the meeting next week will give a positive outcome for everyone.”
