A lot of people were surprised because of Willie Revillame's gesture when he came face to face with his former boss.
Willie was spotted kneeling in front of ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio during the 15th anniversary celebration of YES! Magazine last Monday night, July 27.
Inside the carpeted ballroom of Crowne Plaza, Willie knelt down for several minutes while Ma'am Charo listened to the TV host whose game show, Wowowin, is currently being aired on GMA Network.
According to the ABS-CBN executive, she and Willie have no problems with each other even though they might have had misunderstandings in the past because of his colorful history as the former host of ABS-CBN's game show Wowowee.
"Matagal na kaming nag-uusap," Ma'am Charo said to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in a brief interview.
Why was Willie kneeling in front of her?
"Wala yun, may binubulong lang siya," she replied.
Does this mean there is no bad blood between the two of them?
"Wala," reiterated the ABS-CBN president.
Ma'am Charo later added, "Kami ni Willie, personally, I am able to tell him how I feel."
There are rumors that Willie's current show, Wowowin, will be removed from its Sunday timeslot.
Ma'am Charo responded by saying, "Binibiro ko nga na, 'I read in Ricky Lo's column that you're going daily.'"
How did Willie react to this item?
"Parang malungkot siya, e."
In the future, will they be open in case Willie wants to return to ABS-CBN?
"Ay, hindi naman namin napapag-usapan. In fairness, hindi napapag-usapan," Ma'am Charo said.
After the event, Willie clarified, "Hindi, hindi ako lumuhod.
"Nag-uusap lang kami ni Ma'am Charo, e, nahihiya ako kasi katabi niya yung boss ko ngayon," referring to GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon.
At last night's event, Willie was given a plaque of appreciation for being the highest-selling star cover of YES!.
His January 2009 issue reached the 300,000 mark.
