Gary Valenciano understands why son Gab left showbiz: “Alam ko kung anong pinagdaanan niya, e.”

Gary Valenciano says he's happy for the future plans of son Gab: "It’s exciting kasi when I sat with him once, and he told me what the plans were, napaganyan talaga ako, ‘Are you serious?’ And I said, ‘Wow!’"

“I was going to respond actually.

“I was going to really post something kasi mayroon siyang pinost, e, but then I thought about it.

“Sabi ko, many people most probably will look at it and say, ‘Ay, may conflict yung dalawa, may ganyan-ganyan.’

“As a matter of fact, Charo Santos [-Concio, ABS-CBN president] even quoted some of what he said, and she posted it on her Facebook.

“I said, ‘Really!?’

"Because she really understood... I think she understood a lot of what Gab went through.

“You know, Gabriel is 27 years old, he’s so grown up now.”

THE REASON BEHIND.

Kuwento niya, “Maganda lang it wasn’t triggered by an argument with somebody.

“It was triggered in an Uber, with a Filipino driver, who gently told him, 'Don’t forget where you came from.'

“Most people came to me and commented about what he said was ‘ang lalim ng pinagdaanan niya.’

"Not everybody agreed, but they didn’t agree 100 percent, but they did not disagree 100 percent also."

Sagot ni Gary, “In a way...

“There are moments I was also treated like that.

"So, I understand, and the industry can be very unfair.

SUPPORTIVE FATHER.

Nakangiting kuwento ni Gary, “He’s done with music.

"He’s into editing, directing, and all.

“If you’ll go on his Facebook, you’ll see one of his demos.

“It’s a 15-minute demo for a particular car brand, you can see what he’s into now.

“He is getting there, he is really in that spirit of wanting to achieve something.

"Kasi he’s got to prove now the things that he wants to prove, even to himself.

“He’s posting a lot of stuff and he is really excited.

"I think he is also really excited for people to see kung bakit niya nasabi iyon at kung ano yung ginawa para lang ma-accomplish ito."

“It’s exciting kasi when I sat with him once, and he told me what the plans were, napaganyan talaga ako, ‘Are you serious?’

"And I said, ‘Wow!’"

“I’ll be there for him in the same way that Gab has been always there for me, when I have a tour, when I have a concert.

“Nangyari na ‘yan sa akin, I’ve been through all the ins and outs.”
