ABS-CBN has paid tribute to late director Wenn Deramas's contribution to the network.
In a press statement released today, March 1, ABS-CBN expressed sadness over the passing of one of its loyal directors, who served as a mentor to its talents, writers, and fellow directors.
“Wenn will be remembered for his unbelievable passion for his craft, comedic genius, and mastery in telling stories centered on family relationships,” said ABS-CBN.
Direk Wenn, who died of cardiac arrest last Monday, February 29, was the man behind the biggest box-office hits of Star Cinema, the film arm of ABS-CBN.
His hit movies include Beauty and the Bestie, Ang Tanging Ina Mo series, The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, and Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy.
He also directed some of the most memorable drama series in the country; like Mula sa Puso, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, Marina, Kampanerang Kuba, and Walang Kapalit.
ABS-CBN also said: “His voice, vision, and his presence will be missed in ABS-CBN and the entire entertainment industry.
“But his legacy will live on in the hearts of Filipino viewers who laughed, cried, and were inspired by his films and shows.”
The network's film outfit and talent arm also expressed their grief over the passing of Direk Wenn.
