“Just like most human beings, you go and accept the status quo.
“And so for years we've had this plan of having HBO distribute and it was convenient.
“Now, because of their position that we we're too close to the Ward-Kovalev fight [on Nov. 19], we suddenly realized—who the hell needs them?” pahayag pa ni Arum sa kanyang interview with BoxingScene.com.
“The distributor charges 7.5 percent and actually enters into three contracts with Direct TV, Dish and with In-Demand.
“We do those contracts ourselves.
“In other words, they negotiate them but we do them ourselves, so why would we pay 7.5 percent to anybody if we can get all of the publicity and the promotion from others by supplying it to networks that have a much bigger audience then, say an HBO?” diin pa ni Arum.
“In other words, it's like a '24/7' but I think it's going to be much more innovative.
“We're going to do major pieces that have never been seen before.
“We're going to take cameras right into the Senate, see them considering bills. I think it's going to be fascinating.”
“They made their choices. That’s what they’re paid to do, Peter Nelson.
“So he made his choice and that fine—there’s no animosity.
“But it opened up something that we’ve been trying to do and thinking about for a number of years.
“Why the hell aren’t we distributing our own product?
“Absolutely, we intend to do that to all our fights, and if there are other promoters that want to do pay-per-view and are looking for a distributor, we’re happy to do it.”
HBO DEAL.
“The contract is terminated!
“The fact that they passed means the contract is over, it seems clear to me.
“They can't pick and choose which fights they are going to distribute. They're either in breach of contract or they've ended the contract.
“My feeling is, based my legal background, is that the contract is terminated.”
“Will Manny Pacquiao go back to having HBO Pay-Per-View distribute his fights? I can’t say because we have see how successful we are here.”
Magaganap na ang laban sa Thomas & Mack Center at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
REASON FOR REJECTION.
Ayon pa sa blog ni Cooper, “Pacquiao's comeback screams of someone returning for a paycheck and no other reason.
“It's not that though there's some pressing need for Manny to defeat a fringe champion like Vargas and nobody on Team Pacquiao appears to be all that concerned with unfinished boxing business.”
PACMAN REACTS.
