Ogie Alcasid on Katchry Jewel Golbin: "I instantly became a fan as soon as I heard her voice. She was blind and had to be helped to go up onstage and find her spot. But every time she sang, it was simply magical. At least it was for me."

“I met this young talent called Katchry (Alienette) around 8 years ago when I was a judge of Pinoy Idol (Philippine Version of American Idol) on GMA.

“I instantly became a fan as soon as I heard her voice.

“She was blind and had to be helped to go up onstage and find her spot.

“But every time she sang, it was simply magical. At least it was for me.

“I had hopes that she would make it. But she didn't.

“I tried to make her audition in other contests but she really never made it to the finals.

“Two years ago, my wife and I prayed with her that one day she will be heard.

“Finally, a big break arrived.

“A few weeks ago, I got a text from her mother that someone saw her sing a French song on YouTube and was asked if she was interested to audition for France Got Talent.

“The only problem was that she was not granted a visa.

“I sought the help of good friend Solenn Marie Heussaff and her father and after a few days was given one.

“Here is the audition video. She made it to the semifinals.

“I am so proud of you Katchry. So proud.”
