Pageant fans and supporters had five days to vote for their favorite candidate.
Prior to the coronation night, the 86 ladies from all over the world gave their best shot in the swimsuit and the evening gown portions of the competition last January 26, 2017.
A preliminary interview was also conducted ahead of the grand coronation.
The preliminaries played a crucial part in the selection of Top 13.
They were selected by the six judges that make up the preliminary round's panel: Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres; Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori; social entrepreneur and women’s empowerment activist Francine LeFrak;
president and executive producer of the People’s Choice Awards Fred Nelson; former journalist, publicist, and international marketing director Rob Goldstone; and former model and founder of modeling and fashion school The Bailey Agency, Cynthia Bailey.
The Top 13 will be trimmed down to the Top 9 after the Swimsuit Competition.
