Charo Santos-Concio did not hesitate to address the controversy surrounding Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s life story, as depicted on ABS-CBN’s drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) last Saturday, June 3.
Charo is currently the chief content officer of ABS-CBN and the host of MMK.
Pia’s narrative of her conflict with late father Uwe Wurtzbach was questioned by the beauty queen’s half-brother Alex Wurtzbach and his mom Robie Asingua.
Robie claims to be the live-in partner of Uwe up until he passed away in 2014.
Addressing the issue, Charo briefly said, “We talked to Pia. MMK talked to Pia.
“That’s her story. So, we respect her story.”
Charo was asked to comment on Pia’s MMK episode at the media launch for Sun Life’s new collection of digital short films, held at Makati Shangri-La’s Rizal ballroom, today, June 7.
ALLEGATIONS AGAINST PIA. Last Sunday, June 4, Robie called out Pia for "making a false story."
This was a day after Pia’s MMK episode, starring Liza Soberano, aired on ABS-CBN.
In a series of Facebook posts, Robie particularly questioned the scene wherein Pia got a phone call from her estranged father Uwe and asked for money for medical treatment of his heart ailment.
Robie said it never happened.
Her son Alexander backed her mom, accusing Pia of badmouthing their deceased father.

PIA'S SISTER HITS BACK. While Pia remains mum about the issue, her feisty younger sister Sarah Wurtzbach fired back at Alexander and Robie's allegations.
Sarah said their father did ask for money from Pia, but the beauty queen was not able to provide financial help at all.
In her direct reply to Alexander's Facebook post, Sarah wrote, "Teka.. kung hindi habol pera? Baka bitter nanay mo na hindi kami nagbigay? Get your facts straight!"
