Marian Rivera slams fake Twitter account with anti-Duterte posts

Marian Rivera issued a message to posers on social media, in light of a fake Twitter account bearing her name that has been posting anti-Duterte messages: "Sana tumigil na ang ganitong mga account na gumagamit sa pangalan ng ibang tao."

Marian Rivera lambasted the netizen behind the Kapuso actress’s fake Twitter account which carried tweets criticizing President Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody war against drugs.

Her fake Twitter account named “Fake Marian Rivera” uses the handle “@superstarmarian.”

In her Instagram post today, August 20, Marian clarified that she has no Twitter account, and that she is not connected in any way to the netizen behind her parody account.

The Kapuso actress also appealed to posers to stop using other people’s names in spreading misleading info.

Marian said, “Wala po akong Twitter account, hindi po ako si "superstarmarian" sa Twitter at hindi ko rin kilala ang taong nasa likod nito.

“At sana tumigil na ang ganitong mga account na gumagamit sa pangalan ng ibang tao.”

Twitter user @superstarmarian’s August 18 tweet reads,“U warned us there will be blood. So pde b, ung 16 million lang na bumoto sayo ang patayin mo? Because the rest of us didnt sign up for this.”

As of press time, the said tweet has garnered 143 replies, 576 retweets, and 2,274 likes.

A concerned netizen called out @superstarmarian for using the Kapuso actress's name in proliferating anti-Duterte posts.

The netizen named "Fake Marian Rivera" has a Twitter bio that reads, “I'm a Psychology. I'm a pantasy (Unveryfive acct). Sertifive Ka-DDS (Ding Dong's Sweathart) PARODY DUTERTE.”  

The Fake Marian Rivera account currently has 422,000 Twitter followers.
