When asked if his mom Sylvia Sanchez approves of his girlfriend Sammie Rimando, Arjo Atayde answered, "Hindi naman po siya nakikialam. Gusto lang niya marespeto."

Arjo Atayde admitted that he’s very private when it comes to his relationship with co-Star Magic artist Sammie Rimando.

She is also a member of the all-female group on It’s Showtime called Girl Trends.

“As much as possible, I want to keep it personal, sorry,” Arjo initially stated.

Although they have been dating since late last year, the 27-year-old Hanggang Saan star has rarely spoken about the 20-year-old dancer.

Except for some group photos posted on Instagram by their colleagues and common friends, both Arjo and Sammie also refrain from posting couple photos on their respective Instagram accounts.

MOM'S LOVE ADVICE. All Arjo is willing to divulge is that his mom, Sylvia Sanchez, doesn’t meddle with things concerning his love life.

He said, “Hindi naman po siya nakikialam. Gusto lang niya marespeto.”

Arjo gave this statement during the presscon proper of Hanggang Saan, ABS-CBN’s newest afternoon soap which he topbills with his mom Sylvia.

The presscon was held last night, November 16, at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN’s main building in Quezon City.

In a separate interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Arjo elaborated on his mom’s love advice about finding a girl who will not just love him but will also make an effort to be close to his family.

“More than anything, honestly speaking, each and every mom wants that for their kid, yung marespetong babae and everything else—mabait, kindhearted, ma-reach out sa mga tao, sa pamilya—I think that’s common sense.

“You have to get a girl who’s really intact with your family.

“Because, at the end of the day, it’s you guys together.”

NOT YET READY FOR MARRIAGE. But at 27, Arjo maintained that career is his priority over settling down.

“When you talk about marriage, it’s really not my thing. It will come in years' time.

“I have a long way to go. I have dreams to reach. I have people to meet. I have places to go.

“And I’m not gonna stop my career because of marriage.

“But I’m happy with whatever I have right now, with each and every blessing.”
