Diego Loyzaga refused to back down from netizens criticizing his every move on social media.
The 22-year-old actor gave this statement following his controversial Boracay photos that drew flak from netizens over the weekend.
In his Instagram post last night, May 19, Diego showed a screen shot of netizens accusing him of being given special treatment for being allowed to visit Boracay despite President Rodrigo Duterte's order to close the island from from tourists.
Diego reiterated that what he posted were Boracay photos taken last April 1—long before the six-month closure that officially started on April 26.
Diego is Teresa Loyzaga's son with Cesar Montano, who is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board.
Yan po ang mga #peenoise ?? yall love to make an issue. To everyone commenting that there were no people on the beach, it was holy week, April 1, in front of station 0. Tapat ng Shang Bora. Kaya walang tao. Scroll down my feed. May date. May photos. I even have a highlight of BORA 2018... Whats wrong with the world mama.. i think the whole world is just addicted to the drama ???? #kaininNyoSalitaNinyo
"SICK OF PLEASING PEOPLE." Diego then took to Twitter to declare that he won't behave the way people want him to just for the sake of maintaining a good image.
He added that it's no wonder some celebrities are either feeling depressed or quitting showbiz because netizens have unreasonable expectations of how stars should live their lives.

"PHOTO WITH ANOTHER WOMAN." Earlier this month, Diego also fielded negative feedback for posting a photo with a non-showbiz girl.
Not surprisingly, some fans of his onscreen teamup with Sofia Andres disapproved of him being romantically linked to another girl.
But while he maintained that he and the non-showbiz girl are just friends, Diego also pointed out that he and Sofia are definitely not an item.
He added, "Sofia has a boyfriend... Quit commenting her name on my Ig. We both have separate lives."
