Inihayag ni Benjamin Alves, 29, na hindi niya kailangang bilhan ng promise ring ang girlfriend na si Julie Anne San Jose, 24, bilang patunay ng pundasyon ng kanilang relasyon.
Sabi ni Benjamin, “Parang intermediate ring to the real ring? Parang ganun yun, ‘no? I don’t think so.
"Those are tangibles that you don’t need. We have a promise to each other. We’re good with that.
“Also, it’s quite costly. I can’t barely afford an engagement ring. Hahaha!”
Naniniwala si Benjamin na ang pagbigay ng singsing sa isang babae ay inilalaan kapag handa nang lumagay sa tahimik ang isang couple.
“I pray to God I wear only one ring in my life. And that keeps it special, right?
“If I have to wear a promise ring, if I have, like, four or five promise rings, what kind of promises am I making to people?!
“I don’t want to put myself in a position where I give a promise ring, things will go wrong, and I have to take it back.
“Oh, sh*t! How am I supposed to get an engagement ring when I can’t even keep a promise ring?”
GOING STRONG FOR TWO YEARS
Minsan nang ipinahiwatig ni Benjamin na si Julie Anne ang nais niyang makasama hanggang sa kanilang pagtanda.
Bahagi ng birthday greeting ng aktor sa girlfriend noong Mayo, "Let’s continue this story. And grow old together, shall we?"
Senyales ba ito na sa kasal ang patutunguhan ng kanilang relasyon?
Sagot ni Benjamin, "It's not like the first time we dated, 'I wanna grow old with you.'
"I'm talking about two years... You know what I'm saying?"
Hindi raw sila aabot ng dalawang taon na kinikilala ang isa't isa kung hindi sila seryoso sa kanilang relasyon.
"If in a year, we didn’t see that down the road, then we should probably end it. You're defrauding each other.
"We've gone through some storms, we've gone through some real sh*t, and we've gotten through it.
"So parang, going through stuff like that, it kinda tells you I've been down in the trenches with her."
Sabi pa ng Kapuso actor sa usaping kasal, "We're two years already. So you wanna get there.
"You never know what's gonna happen. We hope for the best."

Kung gaano kabukas si Benjamin sa paghahayag ng damdamin para kay Julie Anne, ganun din ang dalaga na gumawa pa ng kanta para sa aktor na may pagat na "Ways."

"I've never had a song written for me before. For her to share one of her gifts like that—the songwriting and the singing as well—I don’t know what else to say about it."
"I had no idea. She never told me she was writing something until the album came out.
"I've seen the album in advance, but she didn’t tell me that it was for me."
