Actor Manolo Pedrosa signed with the Kapuso Network last July, and he is now being given his biggest showbiz breaks yet.
Prior to transferring to GMA-7, Manolo was previously identified as an ABS-CBN artist, ever since coming out of the Pinoy Big Brother house in 2014.
Apart from PBB, his most notable project with the Kapamilya Network was Oh My G!, the 2015 daytime teleserye.
He also starred in the 2015 movie Stars Versus Me, where he was paired up with fellow PBB housemate Maris Racal.
Manolo related that he was forced to take a break from showbiz because of a bulging disc in his spine.
After a two-year-hiatus, he decided to return, now in a new network.
"I really missed the acting. Kaya I’m super grateful na nabigyan agad ako ng project sa Pamilya Roces, kaya nakasalang agad ako.
"What I really want to do, which is to act, so super really happy," he explained to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview, September 20, Thursday.
THE BIG SWITCH
The 20-year-old actor detailed why he made the big switch.
“When I told my manager, Jun Reyes, I called him up, ‘Sir Jun, I wanna go back to showbiz,’ and he told me, ‘O, Manolo, why don’t you try GMA?’
"And then sabi ko naman, 'Sure? Why not? Let’s try.'"
He continued, “That’s how you get different opportunities… to try, try, try. So, I tried it.
"Nagustuhan ko ang environment ng GMA."
The risk paid off. Not long after signing with GMA, Manolo was announced as part of an upcoming teleserye.
“Nabigyan agad ako ng Pamilya Roces and Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko.”
He beamed, “I actually came from a three-day back-to-back taping, so, so much work. And I’m very happy.
“It’s tiring, but I’m still grateful may work. That’s the important thing.”

GRATEFUL TO ABS-CBN
He added that he is also grateful to ABS-CBN, especially Star Magic, the network's talent management arm, for taking care of him when he was still a Kapamilya.
PEP.ph asked, did he tell his former home network he was transferring?
“In a way, I did. I told Sir Jun when I wanted to go back to showbiz, ‘Can we contact Star Magic if I can come back?’
"Yun, after a few days, he just told me, 'You wanna try GMA?' And then I said, yeah.
“So parang in a way, parang nagpaalam na rin.
“I was with Star Magic before for two years, and it’s just because of the injury that caused me to stop, but they took well care of me talaga.”
