“This is another chapter in our lives. I’m very excited, very nervous,” said Regine Velasquez in her Instagram Live session a few hours before she officially signed a contract with ABS-CBN this Wednesday, October 17.
The Asia’s Songbird had been with GMA Network for 20 years before she made the big switch to ABS-CBN.
While there was talk about her network transfer since last month, Regine refrained from making any comments about it, up until she broke her silence today.
One of things that the Asia’s Songbird immediately addressed on her Instagram Live session was to apologize to everyone for keeping mum about her career move.
Explaining her silence these past few weeks, she said, “I just wanna say sorry I haven’t been able to say anything about the whole matter. I was quiet for a month.
“I couldn’t say anything, okay? I was negotiating.”
Regine said she wanted to make sure all details concerning her network transfer were ironed out before issuing a confirmation.
“Well, at first, nag-iisip pa ako kung ano ang gagawin ko sa life ko.
“It’s a very hard decision.
“And then finally, when I decided na, I still couldn’t say anything because we were negotiating.
“So, kumbaga, hindi pa naman sigurado lahat at that time.”
Regine continued, “So, siyempre, ganun yun. When you enter a contract, everything is confidential.
“So I couldn’t deny nor confirm whatever it was that was coming out during the past few weeks.”
WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS
Regine also said she took it as a good sign that it rained on the day of the announcement of her transfer to ABS-CBN.
“Umuulan, thank you, Lord,” she happily exclaimed.
Regine then divulged that it often rains during life-changing moments in her life.
“Kasi blessing daw yung umuulan. Sa lahat ng major event ng buhay ko, laging umuulan, especially pag may concert ako,” revealed the singer.
