Mariel de Leon hopes to achieve her biggest dream, "to sing in a big opera stage like the Metropolitan Opera or the Royal Opera House."

Paliwanag ng beauty queen-turned-actress, "I'm just done with that phase, I closed that chapter in my life.

"The other thing is I don't like being defined just as a beauty queen because I do more than that.

"I also sing, I act, and I'm also into arts and classical music.

"I just don't want to be tagged as one thing."

Ayon sa aspiring opera performer, "I don't know why it made headlines 'cause I was just trying to say, like, 'You shouldn't box a woman on a label.'

"Like, you shouldn't give women labels in the first place because women have more to offer that just being beautiful, just dressing up, putting on makeup, being glamorous.

"Pageant women have a lot more to offer."

Dagdag pa niya, "I think 'cause the way I speak is very straightforward and I think people didn't really get that because...

"I think, especially in Asian culture, they're used to being mahinhin and sugarcoating everything, but I'm not that way.

"So I think that people got rubbed the wrong way and, you know, I'm sorry... I don't know how it would offend anyone but I guess that's their thing.

ASPIRING OPERA SINGER

"I do want to go to school. Not here, hopefully in New York. Hopefully that pushes through in 2020.

"I know it's not a thing here, that's why I'm pursuing it abroad.

"I'm starting in America and hopefully work my way to Europe where it's appreciated there."

Ano naman ang mga paghahandang kanyang ginagawa?

"For now, just voice lessons, and I have to start to learn how to read notes, which I think is very hard.

"But I'm really up for the challenge. Hopefully it will push through."

"Biggest dream is definitely to sing in a big opera stage like the Metropolitan Opera or the Royal Opera House," sambit niya.
