Khalil Ramos reveals that being bullied as a kid had a lasting effect on him as a grown up. "It can greatly affect the mental health of a vulnerable child and it would affect them in the future."

“I’ve been bullied before in elementary. I was called names,” pag-amin ni Khalil Ramos, 23.

“Uso nun dati yung wrestling, e, WWE [World Wrestling Entertainment].

"Pero I got in trouble, obviously. Pinagalitan ako sobra ng mommy ko."

THE BULLIED BECAME THE BULLY

"I think it’s something sa school namin, CSA kasi ako, co-ed, I think it’s inevitable,” sabi ni Khalil, na sa Colegio San Agustin nag-high school.

“I’ve seen like cuts on the forehead of people, blood everywhere. I’ve heard stories about guns in high school setting.

“So it’s crazy that just now pa lang natin talaga ina-acknowledge ang ganung problema.”

“It affected my mental state at that time, kasi revenge felt good, di ba?

“So, yun nga yung epekto for sure sa mga bata now, e.

“That’s why I resulted to bullying as well, when I saw a person more vulnerable than me nung pumasok na ako ng high school.

“Pero we’re okay now.

“Of course, immature—calling names, physical appearance, the usual…

“Pero I never resorted to anything violent, [but] a lot of people actually do.

“And yung barkada namin, we actually, kumbaga, yung usapan namin we don’t really like that stuff.

“So, right now, it’s important that we put an end to it, because the larger problem is the suicide rate in the Philippines, it’s rapidly growing, it’s crazy, it’s very sad.”

"Kaya I think it’s really important also we educate even more now that we have social media as an instrument to reach the younger generations, na dapat gawin yung tama."

Diin ni Khalil, "Bullying is wrong.

“It can greatly affect the mental health of a vulnerable child and it would affect them in the future.

“I mean ako, for sure, I got damaged by the bullying before, which I would attribute to some anxieties that I have now that I’m mature.”

“Malaki yung role namin when it comes to these responsibilities kasi everyone watches movies, everyone watches TV shows, everyone reads also.

“So if we have that power, if we have the instruments, then we’d have to use it to our advantage, we have to spread good to everyone.”
