BTS member Jungkook admits fault in minor car accident; apologizes to victim, fans

Member of famous Korean group BTS Jungkook admits responsibility for a minor traffic accident in Seoul last Saturday, November 2, according to the official statement of the 22-year-old megastar's talent agency, Big Hit Entertainment. The K-pop idol also apologized to his victim and his fans.

Nasangkot sa banggaan ng sasakyan ang miyembro ng sikat na Korean boy band na BTS na si Jungkook.

Sa ulat ng international news agency na Agence France-Presse (AFP), minamaneho ni Jungkook—Jeon Jung Kook ang buong pangalan—ang kanyang Mercedez Benz car nang nabangga ang likurang bahagi ng isang taxi.

Nangyari ang aksidente sa Hannam sa Yongsan District, sa Seoul, South Korea, nitong Sabado, November 2.

Sa pahayag ng talent agency ni Jungkook na Big Hit Entertainment ngayong Lunes, November 4, sinabing kapwa ginamot sa ospital ang singer at ang hindi pinangalanang driver.

Gayunman, ang dalawa “did not sustain any major injuries," ayon sa agency.

JUNGKOOK VIOLATEd TRAFFIC LAW

Batay sa statement ng agency, inamin ng BTS member na ang banggaan ay “due to his own mistake.”

Napaulat na aminado si Jungkook sa paglabag sa “road Traffic Act,” na nagresulta sa aksidente.

Kinumpirma rin ng Big Hit na “an amicable settlement was made with the victim afterwards.”

Kasabay nito, binigyang-diin sa statement ng Big Hit ang paghingi ni Jungkook ng paumanhin sa taxi driver at sa kanyang fans.

Narito ang kabuuan ng pahayag ng Big Hit Entertainment, na inilathala sa top Korean entertainment website na Soompi:

“This is a statement regarding member Jungkook’s car accident.

“The police have not closed this case yet, so we cannot reveal the exact details, but Jungkook was driving his car last week when he had a minor collision with another vehicle due to his own mistake.

“Both the victim and Jungkook did not sustain any major injuries.

“Jungkook admitted that he violated the road Traffic Act immediately after the accident.

“The scene of the accident was resolved and police questioning was completed according to the due process, and an amicable settlement was made with the victim afterwards.

“We once again apologize to the victim, and we also express apologies for causing concern to fans.”

NOT A CASE OF DRUNK-DRIVING

Nilinaw naman sa report ng AFP na hindi lasing ang 22-anyos na K-pop megastar nang mangyari ang aksidente.

Sa latest update ng Soompi, klinaro ng pulisya na hindi inaresto o kinasuhan si Jungkook.

Gayunman, isinailalim na sa internal investigation ang kaso habang hinihintay ang resulta ng pagsusuri sa taxi driver.

“After the medical diagnosis is received or personal harm is confirmed, Jungkook will be booked and investigated,” iniulat ng Soompi na sinabi ng source nito.

“Currently there are no plans to summon Jungkook,” dagdag pa ng source sa Soompi.

Ang seven-member BTS, o Bangtan Boys, ang pinakasikat na Korean group sa mundo, at unang grupo mula sa kanilang bansa na nanguna sa mga music charts ng United States at Britain.

Napabilang din sa 100 Most Influential People of 2019 ng Time Magazine ang BTS, na bukod kay Jungkook ay kinabibilangan din nina RM, Jin, V, Suga, J-Hope, at Jimin.
