Top-rating South Korean series Crash Landing On You lead star Hyun Bin expresses concern for COVID-19 patients and support for global health workers battling the virus, while his leading lady, Son Ye Jin, donated 100 million won to the actress' virus-affected hometown of Daegu.

Nababahala ang mga bida ng top-rating Korean series na Crash Landing On You na sina Hyun Bin at Son Ye Jin sa patuloy na pagdami ng dinadapuan ng novel coronavirus o COVID-19.

Ang COVID-19 ang bagong tuklas na coronavirus strain na nakaapekto na sa 80,000 katao sa mundo, ayon sa latest update ng Channel News Asia.

Bagamat marami nang dinapuan ng bagong virus ang napagaling, mahigit 2,700 na ang nasawi sa sakit.

Sa Wuhan City sa Hubei, China unang natukoy ang COVID-19 noong huling bahagi ng 2019.

Kasunod ng pagtaas ng global percentage ng mga dinadapuan ng virus, nagpahayag si Hyun Bin ng pag-aalala sa mga pasyente, at suporta sa health workers na nangunguna sa global efforts para kontrolin ang COVID-19.

Sa sulat na ibinahagi nitong February 21 ng VAST Entertainment, ang talent management agency ni Hyun Bin, nagpaabot ng mensahe ang 37-anyos na South Korean actor sa mga apektado ng health crisis.

HYUN BIN WORRIES FOR PATIENTS, FRONTLINERS

Batay sa translated report ng pangunahing Korean pop culture website na Soompi.com, bukod sa Korean language, ang sulat ni Hyun Bin ay mayroon ding English, Japanese, at Chinese versions.

Saad sa kabuuang liham ni Hyun Bin sa English:

“You might be spending day after day anxious and worrying over the Coronavirus disease 2019 which is occurring all over the world and throughout Asia including China and Japan as well as Korea.

“I’d like to ask after your health at least by writing to express my worry over whether the place you are at is safe.

“Just as we’ve always overcome difficulties by cheering each other on despite difficult times, I hope the Coronavirus disease 2019 passes by as soon as possible.

“I also appreciate those working tirelessly day and night to eradicate the virus and I will cheer them on until the end.

“Furthermore, I sincerely wish the quick recovery of those suffering from its infection.

“Again, I hope all those reading this are able to maintain their safety and health from the virus and I will pray this incident safely passes by.”

SON YE JIN DONATES TO VIRUS-AFFECTED HOMETOWN

Ngayong Huwebes, February 27, iniulat ng Soompi na nag-donate si Son Ye Jin, 38, ng 100 million won (PHP4.2 million) sa branch ng Community Chest of Korea sa kanyang bayan, ang Daegu City.

Ang Community Chest of Korea ang 21-anyos na non-profit organization at pinakamalaking welfare institution sa South Korea.

Batay sa ulat ng Channel News Asia, naitala ngayong Huwebes ang pinakamaraming bagong kaso ng COVID-19 sa South Korea, na pumalo sa 505.

Dahil dito, may kabuuang 1,766 na ang reported COVID-19 cases sa South Korea, batay sa datos ng Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (KCDC).

Labintatlo na ang namatay sa bansa dahil sa virus.

Sa 505 bagong kaso ng virus sa South Korea, 422 dito ay naitala sa Daegu, ang lungsod na pinagmulan ni Son Ye Jin.

Iniulat ng Soompi na sinabi ni Son Ye Jin: “Daegu is my hometown, where I was born and raised, as well as the place where my parents live now.

“So it is a particularly special place for me, and the news of [the COVID-19 outbreak] in Daegu was especially heartbreaking for me.”

Dagdag ng aktres, “I hope that [my donation] can provide some sort of practical help to lower-income residents who desperately need help now more than ever, as well as aid in the treatment and prevention of COVID-19.”
