Mga elementary students sa Mandaue City ang makikinabang sa proyektong “Tarps to school bags” ng Kaabag Mandaue Foundation Inc.

Ginawang kapaki-pakinabang ng isang non-government organization (NGO) sa Mandaue City, Cebu ang mga tarpaulin na ginamit ng mga kandidato noong May 2022 national and local elections.

Sinimulan ng Kaabag Mandaue Foundation Inc. ang programang “Tarps to School Bags” noong May 17 bilang isa sa mga paraan para matanggal ang mga tarpaulin at iba pang plastic campaign materials na kung saan-saan nakadikit at nakasabit.

Ayon kay Karla Victoria Cortes, presidente ng Kaabag Mandaue, ang mga campaign materials—partikular ang tarpaulins—na kanilang makokolekta ay gagawin nilang school bags.

Aniya, “A lot of politicians and political parties here in Mandaue have donated their tarpaulins, and we are very grateful.

In fact, we also have one to be delivered to us by a political party in Cebu City.

“We encouraged all political parties of whatever colors to donate their tarps to us. It would really help a lot of children, so they can have new bags.”

Nakatoka naman sa Tipolo Creekside Urban Poor Home Owner Association (TICUPHAI) ang mass production ng mga bags.
Ang mapo-produce na school bags ay ipagkakaloob sa mga mahihirap na estudyante ng Mandaue City, partikular sa mga nasa elementary, para may magagamit ang mga ito sa pagbabalik ng face-to-face classes.
