After her ongoing soap Walang Kapalit, Dina Bonnevie stars in another ABS-CBN film to television adaptation, Lino Brocka's Natutulog Ba ang Diyos? She joins the mix cast of veteran actors—Rosanna Roces, Ronnie Lazaro, and Matt Ranillo III—and young stars—Roxanne Guinoo, Joross Gamboa, and Jake Cuenca.
It was only days ago when news came out in PEP (Philippine Entertainement Portal) that Miss D was supposed to be a part of the GMA-7 soap Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap, a boob tube remake of the movie that originally starred Christopher de Leon and Hilda Koronel. Reports have it that Dina declined the Kapuso sine novella because of a miscommunication with her manager Arnold Vegafria.
At the presscon of Natutulog Ba ang Diyos last night, July 11, Miss D shed light on the issue.
"Actually, yes, totoo ‘yon, kasi si Arnold natanggap na muna niya ‘tong soap na ‘to, but thinking na hindi ie-air ito kaagad. Akala niya it was going to be canned. So akala niya, matagal pa ilalabas, October pa, so sige tatanggapin ko na rin ‘yong [sa] GMA-7," she explained.
She continued, "Nung nalaman niya na airing na pala kaagad, hindi pupuwede, plus I'm also going to be judging U Can Dance every Saturday and siguro hindi naman maganda na dalawa ‘yong show ko dito [sa ABS-CBN], tapos meron akong ginagawa doon [GMA-7]."
Miss D clarified that she didn't know anything about the Kapuso project."On my part naman, in all fairness, hindi ko kaagad nalaman na may tinanggap pala si Arnold sa Channel 7. So when they were trying to call me, ‘Ano ito? May soap ba ako sa 7? Akala ko Channel 2?' So ‘yon sabay-sabay so wow ang ganda ko! Pero ‘yon naayos naman. It was only fair to turn it down na rin kasi showing na ‘to. Hindi naman maganda na sabay," she ended.
