Buong tweet ni Leila: “The hot guy falling for chubby/plain girl storyline is way too overdone attraction is subjective and should not be reduced to physical attributes alone how sucky!!!!!!!”

Sinagot ito ni Leila: “I’m not criticizing the episode nor the people involved since I’m aware it is based on a real story. Rather the idea that it’s even surprising for someone to go for a ‘chubby’ person, when the physical ideals we attach to people are subjective anyway.”

“I’m certainly not trying to sound intellectual or righteous because this is simply my opinion, but I apologise for voicing it and offending anyone. Hope you can understand!!”

“I already like Elisse she’s a very very kind girl [smiley] Also respect what she wrote in the caption. Wasn’t referring directly to her at all, sorry for any misunderstanding [smiley],” mensahe ni Leila.

Pero paniniyak ni Leila hinggil sa isyu, “I’ll choose my words more carefully next time [smiley].”

LETTER OF APOLOGY

“I would never set out to purposefully criticize or offend anyone and that was certainly not my intention in the tweet [smiley] I merely hope that acceptance of all body types can become truly normalized and that terms such as ‘chubby’ can eventually disappear,” simula niya.

“My comments on the ‘storyline’ itself were rather generalized so I apologise if it was offensive, however I promise no harm was meant [smiley] I myself struggle very deeply with confidence in my own body, so it is an issue close to the heart,” pahayag nito.

To those that have decided to call me out on being chubby/fat in an effort to defend the very story that addresses this issue, I hope you yourselves can watch the episode and understand how harmful those words can be.”
